Edgar Martinez?
Oh shit! I fucked this one up. I didn’t even know about the one I’ve bolded.Pilots -> Brewers
Expos -> Nationals
Senators -> Rangers
Senators -> Twins
Orioles -> Highlanders (Yankees)
Brewers -> Browns -> Orioles
Technically, the Baltimore franchise had folded, and the scraps were bought as assets and relocated to NY as the Highlanders. So it is a MINOR stretch to keep the thread connected. But I think it is close enough to include here.Oh shit! I fucked this one up. I didn’t even know about the one I’ve bolded.
Nah. It caused discussion.Man, I will show myself out. I really shit the bed on an attempt to do the trivia haha
Also, if you just said “since 1900”, I think the answers would have actually been a legit 5. There was a lot of shuffling in the early days of baseball (before the very concept of “MLB” even existed).Man, I will show myself out. I really shit the bed on an attempt to do the trivia haha
Colt 45s -> Astros I consider more akin to Devil Rays -> Rays or Spiders -> Indians -> Guardians. Just a rebranding, not a relocation.The Astros became the Astros after moving.
Even though they moved within Houston.
The Colt 45s only changed their name because they moved.Colt 45s -> Astros I consider more akin to Devil Rays -> Rays. Just a rebranding, not a relocation.
Though the California/Anaheim/LA Angels and the Florida/Miami Marlins are also an interesting situation.
I don’t consider the Yankees move from Yankee Stadium to the new Yankee Stadium as a franchise move. The Houston franchise moving from Astrodome to MinuteMaid (Enron) also is not a “move”.The Colt 45s only changed their name because they moved.
Into the Astrodome.
Me either.I don’t consider the Yankees move from Yankee Stadium to the new Yankee Stadium as a franchise move. The Houston franchise moving from Astrodome to MinuteMaid (Enron) also is not a “move”.
Bronies?I hope this isn’t too vague:
Bobby Bonds, Vlad Guerrero, and Matt Kemp all were ___________________.
I'm glad they changed the name when they moved out of Grand Rapids. My great Uncle Harvey LaZboy found the name disgusting and offensive. Although I wish they would have called them the Columbus Indians. That has a nice ring to it.The Guardians were the Furniture Makers, back when they were in Grand Rapids.
They were the Buckeyes and Senators before that. When they were in Columbus.
Bobby Bonds, Vlad Guerrero, and Matt Kemp all were 1 HR shy of joining the 40-40 club.I hope this isn’t too vague:
