You respect the country by respecting its ideals. You respect the country by telling it that there’s still work to be done to live up to those ideals. Telling the players they have to stand disrespects the freedoms that make this country great and turns the Anthem into just a song and flag into just a piece of cloth. Telling them they have to stand is the most un-American thing you can do. That’s the irony of this whole issue. Those calling for the players to respect the Anthem are doing more to disrespect it than any kneeling player could ever do.
Thank God our Founding Fathers understood that principled dissent was more important than blind allegiance.
Equating what these fucking dummies (the kneelers) are doing with principled dissent is probably the most retarded thing you've ever written on tHoop. That's quite an accomplishment for you
You know you've nailed your point when they spaz out like that.We can't all just blindly lash out with homophobic taunts.
And you're an idiot.

This topic is dead.
The protest was never about the anthem and everyone knows it .
That means your sole argument against it was you thought it was the wrong way to go about the protest.
You've been proven wrong.
Move on
You see? THAT is the discussion we should be having here. We should be discussing the reason behind the protest. You can disagree with their reason for protesting and still be a reasonable person, but rejecting the peaceful protest itself is silly. The protests are built on a bullshit narrative. Sadly, many stupid people and guilt ridden white folks are too lame to call these fucking dummies out.
And we can't all be racist asshats like you. What's your point?
