I think it is a big concern that players are jumping ship at their first opportunity. Perhaps the players aren't very happy to be playing for ND. If the players are unhappy, BK needs to figure it out.

I read that too, but UCLA is a four hour flight, schools like Stanford and Cal would have been much closer.

You have to consider that maybe those two didn't want or need him because of who's already there or who they have coming in. Stanford and Cal are closer for sure but if something serious happens and he's needed it's really close enough to jump in a car at 1pm and be there at 6pm or take one of the hourly flights to the bay area from LAX and be there pretty quick. From south bend you still probably have to get to chicago then get a flight to the west coast. You could be talking some serious time before he gets home. From here he could go home on long weekends when not doing football related activities from SB not so much.

I feel for him but like someone said he is still 4 hrs away. He still needs to take a flight. Doesn't make much sense but oh well.

I'm sure his dad is part of it but with Mora I don't doubt he got the school to offer scholarships to everyone in the kids family.

You gotta admit it makes more sense than Amir C. leaving USC to play for the Irish because his dad got a job at Purdue. I've taken five trips to SB for football games from LA . Yes it's a four hour flight but your kidding yourself if you don't think it takes a lot more to make that trip. I said hourly flights. There's actually flights leaving LA to San Fran every half hour. With the medical issues his family has I'm surprised he thought going that far would work.

I'm sure you guys have no love for Mora because a few ND recruits have flipped there but Mora seems to be a pretty ethical guy and I'm a USC fan so I don;t say that easily . You had the Attkinson (sp) brothers go there. Was one offered to get the other? You had Mantis buddy Toma given a scholly . You can say that (special under the table deals) they happen everywhere and they might work or they could bite you in the butt later. Mora took advantage of a situation. Didn't that QB ( name escapes me) leave LSU and go to ND (before leaving again) because family pressure? It happens but when it happens the other way some (not saying who) always want to put down the player or the other school but are totally fine with a player going the other direction (amir anyone?lol).

Good luck tomorrow with the niners. I'm in San diego to watch a basketball game but will be back in the south bay with friends who are 49er fans to watch the game.

Gunner Kiel left his IU commitment for LSU then ND and is now at Cincy. I've never seen a 5 star have so many issues settling down. I don't think ND stole him from LSU like UCLA has taken advantage of kid's unfortunate family situations though.

You didn't have an issue with Amir transferring to ND because his dad got a job at Purdue? I don't care about either switching but his " reason" sounds less credible to me. If UCLA took advantage of the kid in question didn't ND do the same with Amir? Amir wasn't even a recruit he was a year in and played some and was going to be in the rotation the next year. Or did both schools offer the kids an a alternate solution to their problems. Obviously UCLA benefits from it but it's the kids we should have concern with. I didn;t like ND getting a RB from USC like that but for the kid I was glad he got to go where he wanted without higher ups worrying about football rather than him and his family.

I don't blame the kid for wanting to be closer to home with his father having cancer, but my point is that I'm guessing there is more to the story or he would have tried to be closer to home.
