So does the league announce another expansion team at the same time to have an even number? If they didn't force the other city to have a ticket drive, you'd think they must feel they're looking at a sure thing. But other than a second Southern Ontario team or Quebec City, what could they consider a sure thing?

Or do they do their best NHL impression and end up with three divisions of 8 and one of 7 teams?

That doesn't count corporate sales, only individuals. I spoke to someone involved with vegaswantshockey and he was telling me casinos will be making some big purchases, MGM 1500 and others with 500+. Also the luxury boxes will be going soon. Construction is on schedule or just a bit ahead.

I was watching a NHL Classics game between the Habs and Nordiques on Sportsnet a couple of days ago. Those Nords unis were/are sweet.

Nah, I'm sure they're planning to have a 9 team Metro division, an 8 team Atlantic, 8 in the Pacific and 7 in the Central.

Then we can modify the POs to have the top 4 from the Metro get in automatically, top 3 from Atlantic plus 1 wild card from either. Top 3 from the Pacific and top 2 from the Central with 3 wild cards between the two.

Sounds like a perfectly convoluted NHL plan.
