Chancellor is a great player and the matchup between him and JT figures to be quite interesting. I think it was the first regular season game between Seattle and NO in which Chancellor really defended Jimmy Graham well that I became aware of just how good he can be in coverage, though, as you note, he is also a well rounded LB.

Chancellor is a SS, he just happens to be the size of a LB.

I just found this article that discusses a bit of the history of SB MVPs.

SB MVP is always a better bet than picking the game, especially if you're betting on a favorite. Since all the value has been sucked out of the line by moving Denver 3 points (currently -135/-140), if you like them, you can get a much better payout betting Manning as the MVP because if they win he's practically guaranteed to get it.

If Denver wins the game, Manning will be the MVP, I don't see them being able to run it well enough for Moreno to get it and obviously any receiver would have to catch a Manning thrown pass to even have a chance and since he spreads it around, no one guy will have enough to out-perform the QB.

If Seattle wins the game, I would assume that means Lynch had good success and he would probably get the MVP. However, if Denver is able to stop Lynch and Seattle still wins, Wilson will obviously have a big game and he would get the MVP.

Outside of those 3 players, I just don't see anyone stepping up and doing enough to steal away the trophy, but a wildcard might be Harvin...if he is able to play the whole game, that is.

Interesting, though in this particular case a $1 bet on Manning only pays $1.1, if I understand the odds correctly. On the other hand, a $1 bet on either Lynch or Wilson pays $3.75. If one expects Seattle to win the game, those might be attractive bets.

Oh, for sure. If you wanted to bet on the Broncos to win, you would only win about 75-80 cents off a dollar bet. But if it were me, I would just prefer to bet Manning as the MVP.

Seattle has great value because so much money has moved the line towards Denver, you can still bet them to win now and get $1.15-$1.20 from a $1.00 bet. That's almost more favorable than betting an MVP for them, because if they win, there's a much better chance that the MVP selection will probably be far closer than in Denver's case. But assuming the Hawks win, at even odds between the QB and the RB, I would take the QB.

If I were to bet to bet on a Seattle player -- and I'm certainly not about to even consider doing that! -- I think I'd be inclined to split whatever sum I was going to bet evenly between Lynch and Wilson -- and then hope that they won co-MVP.

He's a 25/1 long shot to win MVP. I wonder if there is a prop bet on whether he finishes the game.

I keep hoping he is a football player for the Seahawks, but so far, he appears to be a mythical creature of some kind??

But then if the Hawk win, you're only going to win 3.75 for a 2 dollar bet, rather than a 4.40 payout for a 2 dollar bet on the line.

Though if they split the MVP, that would be an epic bet.

I think it's got to be either Manning or Lynch.

Most likely has to be Manning....

if the Broncos win, he's basically a shoe-in
if the Seahawks win, there's a few potential candidates
