The return was terrible though. Allen Craig completely stopped hitting and Kelly stopped outperforming his peripherals and has really labored as a starter. Lackey also made league minimum last year.

They could've negotiated a nice 2 year extension instead of opting into that 500k deal.

But they should have traded him for PROSPECTS. The team needed to rebuild and restock the farm.

They should've done the same with Lester after they lowballed him.

Zach Lee got traded to the Mariners for Chris Taylor (SS/INF prospect). Zach Lee was pretty much the 15th in line to start for the Dodgers. I'm not exaggerating.
