As of 2013, 59% of people morally accept gay and lesbian relationships. Most people are quiet because, frankly, they don't give a shit. There is probably 15% of the population that are extremely intolerant to "the gays" and about 20% people who want to "raise awareness for the betterment of society." Everyone left in the middle doesn't care.

Tim Tebow sucked as a QB and yet people wanted to see him keep QB jobs because of his religious zealotry and the microphone that he would be able to provide to the cause, which became a joke to others and kept that story alive.

As of 2013, 59% of people morally accept gay and lesbian relationships. Most people are quiet because, frankly, they don't give a shit. There is probably 15% of the population that are extremely intolerant to "the gays" and about 20% people who want to "raise awareness for the betterment of society." Everyone left in the middle doesn't care.

Tebow's pro career has nothing to with the example. I'm saying they supported and liked him purely because of who he was as a man regardless of his pro career...yes, they hoped he succeeded but they liked his image regardless.

that said, I could care less if it were true because that just means people are dumb and wrong and don't know it. If I'm the only one on earth who believed being gay is wrong I would then be the only one who was correct in my thinking.

When you survey a portion of the population there is something called the margin of error. The bigger the sample size, the smaller margin of error. Maybe you should just write us all a memorandum for us so we will know what is cool and what isn't.

where did I say anything about knowing I was the smartest ? I said -being the only one with the correct answer to one particular question is all that's needed. You don't need to be agreed with or part of a large group to be right about anything.

Just because you "morally accept" gay and lesbian relationships doesn't mean you want to be bombarded by these relationships as part of the 24/7 news cycle across all forms of media or entertainment. I won't get into the accuracy of polls like this that use answers from only 1,535 adults to extrapolate that out to mean the country as whole. But I am willing to bet that more than 50% of that 59% in the poll would prefer to not have anyone's sexual preference or relationship constantly thrown in their face 24/7.

The world doesn't need to know everything about you.

I'm pretty sure they have ratings in mind when they decide to constantly "bombard" people. I may be wrong, but I don't think they are trying to turn people away from watching them.
