so, initially I didn't like this draft, but the draft compensation was great! And as much as i don't want to like Kincaid,
his gameplay and stats really give me no reason to hate on him(despite TE being deep this year) The harrision/jones OT situation
is odd to me, but i guess the draft fell that way. I'm always excited about having extra picks for future drafts, i give it an A as well

Not bad but it is a wasted pick at 182, I'd rather have selected a kicker or waterboy than QB that late.

Thank you Sir. It took a little work and while i don't like giving up 1st round picks, trading them away allowed for a very good draft with tons of value this year added to what we have, fits into a window thats wide open imo. This gives us a few pieces to win now with Howell, a depth QB and with such a young roster, perhaps adding a solid vet next year and the year after to this core instead of 1st round picks (lost in the trade) won't really hurt all that much. I believe the addition of these players along with what we currently have translates to a SB victory in 2-3 years.

im going to try a few PFF and PFN mock sims, i love the mockdraftdatabase, but i'm landing insane compensation.
i got like 3 2024 1st rounders, and a decent mock. its most def fan friendly. PFF is more realistic

You win. If you got three firsts in 2024, I don’t care what you got in 2023 at all.

ok here is a link where houston gave up 2024 #1, #1, & 2nd rounder to draft Skoronski.
I cleaned up in compensation during the draft but the picks weren't great. going to try one more and i'm done for the night

Keep drafting low-end talents, lowered-pedigreed QBs, and hope for that, it's only happened once in NFL history Tom Brady huh? This is exactly why I don't believe in drafting QBs who grade out below the top five picks of the 3rd round. (late second-early 3rd) While you certainly can find guys who perform relatively well at the NFL level later in the draft, they all have a non-championship ceiling in the modern NFL. (Brady excepted)

Even when/if you get a guy that late who luckily makes the SB it is usually because he was carried there.

They would have been there with you or me at QB and despite it all, they wanted to move on from a fair, albeit winning QB (Jimmy G) and leveraged a lot of draft capital in order to get a more highly pedigreed player. Who knows if Lance will become what they want but guess what is undisputable?? ... They are actively trying to get better!

That is true, but like we talked about...they simply needed to insert "QB" to be successful.

They already had:

Elite playcalling
Elite targets
Elite OLine
Elite defense

well isnt that one way to build a team ? put pieces around him ? good coaching ? . the NFL has many late round qbs who were drafted and won championships

the chances of 6th or 7th round picks being anymore then career BU's is high but every so often you hit on a curl . that means we cant hit on a qb ? and are misses on 6th or 7th round picks horrible ? that is precisely where you take fliers on guys even qbs

Name another way to build a championship team in the modern era!

I get it, we're old dudes (I'm older), and if we're going to be seeing another SB winner, it really won't matter how we get there, just as long as we get there, right? Well, not me... kind of.... I'll take that championship but given the choices between transitioning with the idea that they are going to do it again ( long-term QB question answered) and they are a one-and-done, back to mediocrity type situation, I'll take the former.

Now, confidentially from one old dude to another old dude, would it be a worse form of torture knowing that they could do it again and I won't be around to see it? Shit, how much does CasketVision cost?

The 49ers
Nice try but from 2005 to 2012 they had Alex Smith, who was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the 1st round (1st overall) of the 2005 Draft.

AND...

From 2017 until 2022 they had Jimmy G who on October 31, 2017, the Patriots traded Garoppolo to the Niners in exchange for the 49ers' second-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Despite this stability at QB, they are still searching for that higher-pedigreed signal caller.

Where and how was that's different?
