The Bungles didn't use it until the 1988 season.
So doubt the 85 Pats even thought about it.

Srsly dude, just quit while you're ahead. The Pats definitely brought the two TE set in the passing attack back to life, but other teams like the Niners and such have been doing similar things for year. It's all about personnel.
