Looks like they're going to skip all the idiotic bickering and bad publicity. It's being reported that they are putting the finishing touches on a labor agreement.

Supposedly going to be a lot of changes, though most haven't been specified yet. They're moving the Astros to the American League, making two 15-team Leagues and interleague play throughout the year. Also, there will be an extra team apiece in the 2 leagues in the playoffs. There will also be changes to free agency rules as well changes to the competitive balance tax.

The competitive balance tax has been a joke so far.....the big spenders don't mind paying it, and the small market teams just pocket the cash......

Yeah, it didn't go into details on what the changes would be. I'm hoping stiffer penalties. They really need a salary floor to make some teams spend at least a certain amount. It hurts baseball that one team can spend 3 or 4 times another team.

They really need to share the revenue....no one is more a capitalist than I am, but it's just too hard for the small market teams to compete revenue wise......I'm really tired of the small market teams just being farm teams for the Yankees and Red Sox.......

I'm actually curious to see if they improve things. If they can make it more competitive, I might actually watch my first game in 17 years.

yes, this. I used to be interested in baseball, but it sucks knowing who's going to be in the playoffs every year for the next decade.

If they're getting to an agreement without any argument, I'm quite sure revenue sharing and salary cap are not a part......

Well, anyway, looks like they'll be playing baseball long before the next basketball season starts.......
