MLB Will be Very Busy the Next Couple of Weeks

Between now and April 7, they have all of the arbitration hearings, free agent signings and roster moves to make. Ordinarily, the arbitration hearings are done before they go to camp, but not this year.
Not a lot of sleep for front offices, agents and arbitration judges.

That's just the start of it. Spring Training starts on Thurs (or is it Fri), but it's coming. TV schedules for that need to be set, not all games are televised, but there are games on TV, both local and national.

Then the reg season TV schedule has to be finalized. I see that Apple TV thing is exclusive, so that means no local TV for Friday night. YouTube games, TBS games, Peacock games all need to be set, so there's a lot of work to be done. Thank God I get MLB.tv (for free, from my brother's cell phone carrier), so I can watch any game, any time, on any device.

Major League Baseball today announced the revised schedule for 2022 Spring Training presented by Camping World, which will officially begin on Thursday, March 17.

The complete 2022 Spring Training schedule, subject to change, is available at MLB.com/springschedule.

Under the revised schedule, Cactus League Clubs will play a minimum of 17 or 18 games (varying by Club) across the official 21-day window (March 17th-April 6th), while Grapefruit League Clubs will play a regionalized schedule. Clubs on the West Coast of Florida will play a minimum of 18 games across the 21 days, and Clubs on the East Coast of Florida will play a minimum of 15 or 16 games.

TV schedules (both spring training and reg season) are starting to roll in. It's a laborious process, with all these new deals (Peacock, Apple) and they want exclusivity. That's why ESPN is Sunday night only now, no-one really watched the mid-week games on ESPN as long as they were on the local channel as well.
