Every once in a while, it's okay for a team like the Angel$ to get a couple of wins and make everyone think they are contenders....before getting swept at home, in a four-game series by the Houston Disastros.

Freddy's sweating like a stuck pig and that's not a good sign for the Angels. When he sweats, he wins. Later on he'll have that splitter falling off the table. I predict he goes 7+ innings tonight.

I think Hamilton in the 2-hole is a baffling move from Scioscia and I disagree with his reasoning. Put Aybar back in leadoff and drop Hamilton to the six or seven hole.

Like Jim Palmer just said, Garcia led the league in ERA more than once.

When besides 2001?

I see only 3 "black ink spots" for him in Baseball reference. Led in innings and e.r.a in 2001, and led in wild pitches in 2005.

Not saying I am right and H.O.F'er Palmer is wrong, but......?

It's real simple. When Pujols and Hamilton produce, like they're fucking PAID to do, they win. Simple as that.

I agree. Hamilton should NEVER hit # 2 for ANYONE. EVER!

That is a contact and situational spot, and Hamilton pretty much does neither.

I musta misunderstood him. I was led to believe it was multiple years by the way he said it. I always enjoy these Orioles announcers.

Could we really be witnessing two pitchers with no-hitters?

As the All-Star break approaches, patience will erode and you'll see the Angels braintrust swallow their pride, drop him to 7 or 8 and admit they fucked up. Until then...

I hope the Dodgers can beat up on the D'backs. And I'm ready to concede the NL Central to the Cardinals. Barring injury, they own that division.

I'd give anything to have a guy like Buck Showalter manage the Padres or Reds.

Too many teams fall into this trap. That being, they think $$ = productivity. Guess what? IT DOESN'T!!!! Teams should play players and hit players in spots that will best help them win the game they are playing today, and should be much less concerned that some gazillionaire is getting his feelings hurt, now that he is being treated like the struggling performer that he now is.

Without a doubt. The problem the Angels have is that they touted the Pujols and Hamilton combo so heavily among the fanbase that now they're humiliated and not ready to admit what is becoming obvious. I think Scioscia ends up leaving over it.
