Amen Brother!Welcome to Tejas! This state gives you all three things you are looking for...
I was stationed in Norfolk Virginia, it's the most boring state I have ever lived in (I lived in a lot of different states) unless you are in Va Beach it's a fucking yawnfest. Also the roads and traffic there are horrible, If you need to be near DC and NYC I would suggest Delaware or Jersey...

Hmmm... Nobody suggested Delaware... We looked into Summit I think it was in NJ... I'll take a look see... I hate moving around... When I was young we moved all the time when the rent was due...
Careful there!
I have lived in VA all my life. Grew up in northern VA near DC, and it is overpopulated. Spent a year living in the VA Beach area after college and did not like that much either.
Chalottesville is awesome though. Perennially voted as one of the best places to live. It is a college town, so there is plenty to do, but you never get the big city or urban sprawl feel that exists in those other places. Blue Ridge mountains are a 30 minute drive away, you can get to the beach in 2 hours, and the public schools are pretty darn good.
So far today, Nos traded in front of my to take Mays, wlk traded in front for Chipper, and now you for Hornsby. All 3 players I planned to take. Am I broadcasting my picks or something?
Or 700K in CaliProperty cost was one of the main reason I looked at Texas when I was switching jobs. Reason 2 was how fast the tech was growing in the Dallas area.
A house that would cost you 200k in Texas will cost you 350 in Utah.
Or 700K in Cali
Sorry guys. Fell asleep early last night.
