Did you all know that in the early days when players first starting wearing numbers on their uniforms they didn't pick their number they were given a number based on where they hit in the lineup, this is why Babe wore 3 and Gehrig wore 4...

My new lineup. I switched Gehrig and Ortiz. Both could drive in runs but Gehrig being a top 5 power hitter and his numbers were out of the roof he can get on base. Now, the bottom half of my order....I put Murphy in the 5 hole bc he was another power hitter that could drive in runs. Usually you have another power hitter at the 5. Then Ivan, Puckett and Garciparra were all very good hitters that can get on base as well. I think this lineup could work out a lot better if it makes a difference lol
