He has a brain aneurysm his sophomore year. So he wore a helmet his Jr and Sr year in case he got a ball hit at him. In the bigs he didn’t need it but in college it led him to the greatest season of all time so he kept it.

That’s really cool that he was able to do that. I guess with the trade with the Orioles and Phillies, I expected everyone to hop onto a train or flight and get there ASAP. This was probably the last chance for Randy to be with his family for the rest of the year, so a good thing for the Mariners to also not press him into leaving.

I think it’s cool that nobody knew he was going to do it. Sounds like it was his call, not a photo op.

He prolly had to be there for a physical before the trade was legit anyway. Since he got traded in the middle of the night.

Always interesting to see how guys handle being dealt. Something the rest of us don’t really have much of a way of relating to.
