I think that team would beat MJ's pathetic pick up team. Can't argue the chemistry of Stockton and Malone combined with Bird and Kareem.

Like LeBron or not, he's the best all around player on the court today, and the best player we've seen since Jordan.

For anyone who has seen Worthy play, it's not really all that debatable. Hard to find a better small forward than Worthy.
Lebron. Wow, that was hard

I have explained this many times but basically it boils down to commitment, off court distractions and team chemistry. I can find mj talent :laugh3: without his huge list of baggage.

So for a 1 game winner take all mj is a must, if i am trying to build a team that will work together well for several years mj is almost an easy pass.

MJ was maniacally competitive. Commitment? Are you kidding?

Bottomline: MJ is threatened by LBJ's greatness and his potential of possibly passing him for the greatest of all-time.

If he wasn't threatened he wouldn't have a need to say these things.

:tinfoil3:

Besides. lbj will never be considered the GOAT. Lost 2 finals. GOATs don't loose in the finals...

Um, I saw Worthy play... been following the NBA since the early 80's, and outside of his Scoring ability Big Game didn't bring much else to the table relative to other top level SF (like Bird, Pip, Dr. J, LeBron, et al).

Worthy wasn't a stand-out Defender, he wasn't a Play-maker, and he was a below-average Rebounder... so yes, it is rather surprising that MJ would choose him.

Jordan is the GOAT. James could win 10 rings, and Jordan would still be considered the best. Not a James hater... It's just that the media and everyone around the world loves Jordan and would bring up stats defending Jordan as the GOAT. Just imagine if there was social net back when he was dominating the league...

Seriously?!? Worthy was actually a very good defender (definitely better than Bird and Dr. J), had some range on offense and could be a good playmaker and rebounder when needed.

You have to remember, when it comes to playmaking, he was teamed with possibly the best playmaker in the history of the league. As for rebounding, he didn't have to be a great rebounder when he had Kareem and Rambis/A.C. Green on the team. But when rebounding was needed from him, he'd deliver.

Also, he came up big in important games, hence the "Big Game James" nickname!! There's a reason MJ picked him.

Honestly, I think he is very underrated as a player because he was overshadowed by Magic and Kareem. On virtually any other team in the league, he would have easily been their best player.

Malone must have one hell of a tanning booth...

lol, the dude is referring to Malone was a pure redneck, always wanted to be a truck driver, almost obsessed by it and spoke like a white man and hung out with Stockton...and wasn't that good of jumper, lol.

LBJ took the worst finals team in history to the finals. Look at their roster, NOBODY wins a ship with that team and they played the dynasty Spurs.

LBJ definitely has a good shot to become the best. Needs 6 or more ships to do that though.

FTR I always liked Worthy's game... and when I said I was surprised MJ chose him it wasn't meant as a knock. I just think there are other guys who would compliment Jordan's game a little better, is all.

They can defend MJ all they want, if LBJ wins 10 in this era that is insane.

LeBron beat two (2) 41-win teams and an aging / past their prime Pistons to get to the Finals... if he was playing in the 80's or 90's with those 07 Cavs, LeBron gets waxed in the first round.
