Yep i didn't want to be the one to say it but yeah since he passed, he is now a slam dunk for top 5. Before he was roughly borderline top 10
Yeah, like @tlance said, give it a few years. It'll change back.

As bad as the Rockets' 0 for 23 or whatever it was?
Who are these folks you are addressing? Everyone here disagrees with you.
So then how/why do NBA players do a pretty poor job on on the whole when it comes to all star voting? I mean, a third of players didn't think Gainnis was worthy of starting and nearly 40% of players didn't think LeBron was worthy... Should we trust their judgement and use your belief system that 'they know the talent they're facing?'
Analysis: Too many players making mockery of All-Star voting
Who are these folks you are addressing? Everyone here disagrees with you.
Yeah, it's amazing how many top 10's and top 5's Kobe has suddenly been showing up in.
This isn’t all star voting. Lol
this is simple. You face up to 3 different guys on the court. You know who’s the better of all 3 especially if you’ve faced them a lot or even played with them like a Ray Allen.
Are we not supposed to listen to the actual players that have guarded these 3? Just listen to the Skip Bayless types?![]()
Well what I was alluding too was that the metric of guarding someone is gauged differently based on the defender. Saying someone is harder to guard isn't universal in standard. So using that as your main source of evidence isn't exactly solid.
Skip Bayless is an idiot.
It is wise to listen to info from all informed sources, but then form your own opinion.
As has been pointed out, players tend to have some pretty crazy opinions on these types of matters.
Hell, you ask Jordan himself who the GOAT is and he will say Russell. So I guess case closed right?
Yes, you. We all disagree with you.Disagree with me? Lol Did you see me on that video? I haven’t guarded all 3 of these guys. These are actual NBA players not the internet![]()
Yes, you. We all disagree with you.
No question at all who is currently the GOAT. But who’s #2? According to NBA players who played against MJ Lebron and Kobe... Kobe should not be overlooked and some of them haven’t put Lebron over Kobe. These are actual players on the court with these 3. I thought it was a very interesting take
Ray Allen
TMac
KG
Artest
Paul Pierce
NBA players have all kinds of egos and weird hidden agendas.
They're not really the best people to evaluate others players. They won't always say what they mean, they're partial as sh@t and contradict themselves often.
Coaches and then sports writers are the best objective evaluators...

But you're saying you trust the players on who they think is best...if a significant chunk don't think Gianni's or LeBron is the best at their position, how can you seriously say you trust what they think? Otherwise you're saying their opinions only matter when it's convenient for your argument..
Huh?
It’s simple.
Dudes that guarded Jordan Kobe Lebron. Their experience and what they think.
And dudes that played against Giannis/LeBron don't think they're the best at their position as evidenced by the voting. Can't have it both ways.... Just about every player voting has played in a game vs or with LeBron/Giannis, correct?
You're picking and choosing when players 'experience' and opinions have merit to bolster your argument...
