MSG,

What I had to give up? Dude, I'm a Giants fan! Ask my dad...

Well ok, Sox are my #2 team and I talk about them plenty with my dad.

Total homerun for the Sox. They gave up almost nothing (check the stats) and Boston picked up most of the money even. Boston had to dump him for very little.

They probably didn't get offered much because no one else had as big a hole at 3B. So no one else would risk the injury-ridden Youkilis.

It appears he's pretty healthy, and now has a chip on his shoulder. So IMO a big win for the Sox, mainly because they had less than nothing playing 3B now.

The Sox lineup has few holes now if he stays healthy, but after their top 2 starters they have question marks. And only 3 reliable pen guys, although they might pick one up those are easy to find. They could win that very weak division. Still think the Tigers do.

One other thing I hadn't remembered...the White Sox did something like this to the Red Sox a while back, taking beloved legend Carlton Fisk off their hands in 1981. He ended up playing more games and years as a White Sox than as a Red one.

Youk probably not quite that level but was a key part of the 2 WS teams there.

 The best part is the "that's life, kid" look from the boy's father.

that is the best part! Got to love New Yorkers, the dad is probably saying, "sorry kid, youse got to get tougher and fight for it next time."

But that's what makes it even funnier on yet another level, if the dad is so tough why doesn't he get the ball back for his kid? Because he's a NY pussy.

He's just waiting for a time when there aren't any witnesses.

Although, in true NY fashion, he probably ripped it away from his own kid, who he had for his one weekend a month per the divorce settlement.

Wow! Fred Lewis is striking out 30% of the time in AAA, and only walking about 9% of the time. His ML career appears to be over.

He, Bill Hall, Aubrey Huff, and Freddy Sanchez should pool resources and open a tanning salon chain...

Nice pull. Chart supports my beginning of year feeling: Gs v Snakes for the division. That's the way it's trending...

That's what everybody picked, us vs Snakes. I still think the Dodgers will be in the mix, they have an MVP coming back sometime soon, and will likely be buyers at the deadline.

That Bauer kid scares me a little bit. If he adds a Bumgarner-esque boost, that rotation is really fucking good, and that line-up will play to career norms (if they haven't started to already). What a great season!

If only due to an extra playoff spot, but yes, despite their recent slide that team is at least a playoff contender... which no one would have refuted in Spring Training. The whole team is helped by having the best pitcher and position player in the NL, after all.

Yep. I wouldn't expect Bauer to dominate his first year, but he'd solidify that rotation. We'd still be superior if Timmah rights himself and our bully is superior as well. Two clubs built to their parks and a nice Summer battle we should win.

When did they get Matt Cain?
