Probably not enough. Might have to add in a 3rd year of a 1st and 2nd and a 4th year 2nd or 3rd. Asking a bad team with the first overall pick to trade back 27 spots is going to command a steep price.

I think you're probably right. It's a massive jump. We usually only see these types of trades for QBs, I wonder if there would be any discount because it's a DE?

Either way, Dallas literally couldn't afford it unless they wish to see this nice thing the Cowboys are building disappear as fast as it came to be.

Add to the fact that it would put a tremendous amount of pressure on the FO and scouts to hit on the mid round guys to keep building roster depth and that's very difficult to do even with the team having all the draft picks. It's a nice pipe dream but way too costly for 1 guy.

I sure don't disagree that Dallas would part with what it would take, but what would it take?
Looking at the multiple 1st's it took for the last couple of trades I'm guessing about 5 1st's a couple of 2nd's and Romo.

Yeah it would easily take 3 1st round picks, plus probably a couple of 2nd round picks, and then a couple of midround picks to make such a leap these days. Only worth it if you are thinking you are getting a franchise QB. While a pass rushing DE is great they just don't hold that much value to make such a huge leap. Throw in this is a decently deep draft at the pass rushing DE position.

Idealism is great and all, but your statement is factually incorrect. We have seen it before, granted they were QBs, but if a rookie makes a big enough stink about not wanting to go somewhere...

They may not get to choose where they go, exactly, but they damn sure do have a lot of say in where they don't want to go.

No it's not, minus @Godstree Comment, ( EliManning) Elway is the only other. That's a lot of drafts that guys didn't end up where they really wanted to go.

And once again this guy is number one on media boards , no pro team has come out and said this guy is the best of the class, so it my premature for the circus to start up about this being number one just yet.

I kind of hope Cleveland wins more playoff games than Dallas the next 5 years. That would make this little schtick of his hilarious on many levels.

What would the Boys have to give up to get him? From 28 to 1. I would switch firsts and throw in several #2 this year and down the road. (those are JJ's picks anyway).

Joking aside, what would it take?

The farthest any team has moved up was the Rams in the Goff trade, and that was only from #15. That cost 2 #1s, 2 #2s, and 2 #3s, and that was probably cheap given the general opinion of the players available at #1. Moving up from #28? I can't even imagine, maybe double that? More likely, it would be a similar deal + a couple pro bowl type players. 3 #1s, 3 #2s, Zack Martin, and more?

If Myles Garret really wants to play in Dallas just pull a Randy Gregory and smoke some weed. :doobs: Maybe a bong video will conveniently leak like Tunsil last year.

Nice, now if Myles could convince every other rookie to do the same thing so we don't have to see them come up on the stage with their stupid families and fake crying like they didn't know where they were probably getting drafted, wasting 10 minutes every f'ing pick, it'd be perfect.

Didn't the Falcons move up further from like 25 to 6?

I think I'd be glad I'm going to be the #1 pick in the top sports league in North America. Wouldn't matter the team that was drafting me.

Well it IS sorta like being drafted by the Leafs! No hard work should go unpunished!

I get it, from passed deals and such that this is what it would take but man that is so crazy to think about.

Yeah...I guess I look at it like this...the plus, I'm going to be well paid....the negative, I'm going to be playing on a sorry ass team.

Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman were two of very few #1 overall picks to win a title with the team that drafted them...and in Elway (drafted by the Colts though) and that might be it for the modern era.

Pay is good, but it's tough gig.

Sorry, meant the farthest to move to #1. #28 to #1 is essentially impossible.

I got yah and yeah agree that it is pretty darn impossible for the Cowboys to do such a thing. No team is going to give up that much draft capital for any other position but a sure fire QB prospect. A DE is no where near that kind of value and I wouldn't say Garrett is some blow me away kind of prospect. I think he will be good but I'm not seeing a for sure All-Pro type.

If Myles doesn't want to come to Cleveland I will gladly take Jonathan Allen, the dude is just as worthy of a #1 pick (still think Garrett is better). Remember the Browns have the 12th too, so lets watch them stink up another draft, for my sake and Browns' fans sake I hope this isn't true.

I hope they get Garrett and Hooker though.

Garrett has said he'd be happy to play in Cleveland....not an issue for him.

Garrett grew up in Arlington and would just rather play for his home town team. Not a big deal, Dallas has no chance for his services.
