Well, not really, but I have a feeling he is the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Won't that be fun to face his defenses in Cleveland for the next decade!? He is just a bit too good for his current job. Sad we are going to lose him, more than likely this offseason.

He deserves a chance as a head coach. His players rally around him and play better than their talent. I'll root for whatever team he coaches -- I just hope it's not Cleveland!

Cleveland lost like their last 10 games, but if you give them a QB, a RB and put Zimmer in charge of that defense basically, look the hell out. They are going to be a quick up and comer.

Cleveland hires Zimmer to be head coach.

Cleveland goes and spends the bucks on Jay Cutler.

Cleveland goes and grabs Darren McFadden on a smaller contract than his talent suggests because of his injury history and draft a good RB in round 2-3 as a backup for when McFadden gets hurt or to platoon with him.

Sprinkle in a little more talent. Cleveland is relavent once again.

The Browns said they weren't going to hire (or maybe it was interview) anyone who interviewed last year...which Zim did, so I think he's safe from Cleveland. I can't see any way he'd go to Washington and deal with Snyder breathing down his back.

Zimmer's 57 and has never been a head coach. If he wants a head coaching spot before his career is over I don't think he'll be too picky

last year he was qualified but didn't interview well.

but yea, having him go to Cleveland would suck, you know damn well we'll get Leslie Frazier back.

No chance he goes to Washington. Snyder expects coaches to lick his boots. Zimmer won't do that.

I still think most teams are hesitant to hire a defensive coach in this offense happy league. That's why I thought Cleveland would be Zimmer's best shot. They already have an offensive guy on staff.

Or maybe I just keep telling myself that because I don't want Zimmer to go. Promote Marvin to GM and make Zimmer the head coach.

Gruden, on the other hand, can go wherever he likes.

Maybe it's not as important to him as everyone thinks

I feel like Cleveland is going to draft a QB, and want a HC who can teach the QB position...... I am worried we will lose Jay Gruden, to someone.... I was thinking Cleveland...

I think Gruden would be a monumental mistake for Cleveland. In many ways, he's similar to the guy they just fired. When the dumped Chud, I got the idea that they wanted someone with a big name and a lot of head coaching experience. Their first choice last year was Chip Kelly. I wonder if they make a run at Brian Kelly this year.

Totally guessing, but I think it is.... He's interviewed for every position he's been invited and he consistently is quoted as saying he'd like the chance but that he won't let it get in the way (interviewing) of his current job.

The problem with Zimmer's interviews he is too honest with these owners. These rich guys don't want to hear some of the stuff Zimmer is telling them. Zimmer is not an ass kisser and some of these guys expect some degree of ass kissing. Least this is what the dude on the NFL channel on SIRIUS was saying on the way to work today. This has been the issue according to multiple sources.

I know in this high flying offensive days we have in the NFL it is the sexy thing to go and get an offensive mind but to me honestly I would rather have a defensive head coach and just hire a great OC. The guy considered the best head coach in the business BB is a defensive minded coach. Right now the Broncos have a defensive minded coach in John Fox. I guess to me with the emphasis on offense in the NFL I would rather have a DC and a HC both working to get the defense ready while the OC prepares the offense.

Zimm is a great DC and deserves a shot for certain, and with 6 jobs open there's a good chance he lands one this year...CLE DEF is not the reason they can't get out of last place...QB...with Hoyer returning and having the 4th and 25th slots...I would take Bortles, and use the 26th pick on Marquis Lee.

I think CLE has 2 second rd picks as well so they should be able to get the #1 or #2 rb off the board and still use a few bucks on a veteran like McFadden.

Yeah, I'm sure deep down he wants to see if he can do it. But does he want it bad enough that he'll go to an impossible situation that's probably going to be a rebuild and unwinnable situation?

Another thing to remember, if/when Zimmer leaves for a head coaching job, our defensive free agents will follow him. I think this year our only real defensive free agent to be is Johnson, but I'm sure someone can check on that.
