And we'll draft the BPA in the 2nd round because we'd have to give up our 1st round pick to sign him.

This isn't pointed at the poster, but rather Peter King. Pretty ridiculous idea now that the 49ers have signed Manningham and Moss plus they already have Crabs and Williams. Are they going to change to 3 wides every play? This is assuming Smith is back at QB right Peter?

A lot of things "may" happen. Adriana Lima "may" divorce her husband and fall in love with me. King must have been short on material before his deadline with that one.

No, she "may" not, I refuse to let it happen. She is not allowed. I have my own plans and I control her fate. Bwaahahaha

Peter King needs to shut the hell up. He should focus and continue to slob the NE franchise. His beloved Patriots should make a move for Wallace at this point, not us. Brady and Mallet have the arm to effectively use Wallace in his deep speed. Wallace / Lloyd / Welker in the slot as always would make that team deadly. In the second round they could try to get a pass rusher or corner (someone with good talent will fall at those respective positions). They could also land a solid RB in round 3 or 4.

Two new ideas on Wallace
9:50 AM ET
Mike Wallace | Steelers | Interested: 49ers?, Broncos?, Bengals?, Ravens?

As noted in our post from Sunday morning, two teams appear to be out of the mix for putting in an offer sheet for Pittsburgh Steelers WR Mike Wallace -- if they were even "in" to begin with -- as the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers both bolstered their corps of pass-catchers with signings over the weekend. If those two clubs are out, that would leave the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals -- who many believe will both pass on this opportunity -- as the teams left on the speculative list of potential poachers.

Within his "Monday Morning Quarterback" column, Peter King of Sports Illustrated floated an idea that the 49ers might not be completely out of it just yet. If Peyton Manning and Alex Smith both sign elsewhere, that frees up a significant amount of cap space, cap space that could be used in an effort to land Wallace. Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area didn't rule out the possibility; not only that, but he believes that adding Wallace -- and inserting Colin Kaepernick at QB -- would change the Niners' offense to a more vertical-oriented passing attack, something that sounds like a lot of fun for the 49ers faithful.

ESPN AFC North blogger Jamison Hensley is on the other side of the argument, as he does not believe the Niners would target Wallace after already adding Mario Manningham and Randy Moss to a team with Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis returning. Nevertheless, Hensley does believe that another team out West could be in position to target Wallace:

- Tim Kavanagh

Jamison Hensley
What about the Broncos?

"The team I would watch is the Denver Broncos, especially if they land Manning. The Broncos have an emerging playmaker in Demaryius Thomas if he stays healthy. The only other receiver who caught more than 20 passes was Eric Decker. Yes, Tim Tebow didn't help the passing game but Decker is far from being Reggie Wayne or Pierre Garcon. If the Broncos lure Manning to Denver, I could potentially see the Broncos giving up the 25th overall pick for Wallace."

I would be a big supporter of bringing him in, a top 10 maybe top 5 wr would be a great weapon to have. I would take him what we got and CK over just Smith and what we got

I would be very surprised if we go after Wallace.

We like to run multiple TE sets so with additions of Mario and Moss to go along with Crabs and Williams there really isn't a major need for giving up the draft pick and the money to Wallace.

It would only make sense if we are thinking long term with Wallace.

They need to be thinking long term. We have Moss who is on a 6 month tryout. Manningham is only signed for 2 years.

I think Williams would be just as good as a #3 and he can return Punts & Kicks as well. Grab Wallace and cut our losses with Crabtree.

My thinking is completely opposite from you guys.

I say bring back Ginn as a return specialist / #5 WR. I do not want Williams coming within 5 yards of any punt or kick return. In fact I do not even want him on the field during punt or kick returns. Ginn is a top 10 return guy in the NFL. Bring him back for that alone. A good punt / kick returner can make a difference in a tight playoff game.

2nd move I would make is draft a WR and a TE. If we got one of Fleener or Stephen Hill in the 1st round, plus another WR/TE in a later round, that would be perfect.

Moss, Crabtree, Manningham, rookie/Williams, Ginn (Williams is on the bubble fighting with the rookie even though he's the #4 WR)

Lastly, I would go out NOW and pick up the best veteran RG we can find.
