My thinking is completely opposite from you guys.

I say bring back Ginn as a return specialist / #5 WR. I do not want Williams coming within 5 yards of any punt or kick return. In fact I do not even want him on the field during punt or kick returns. Ginn is a top 10 return guy in the NFL. Bring him back for that alone. A good punt / kick returner can make a difference in a tight playoff game.

2nd move I would make is draft a WR and a TE. If we got one of Fleener or Stephen Hill in the 1st round, plus another WR/TE in a later round, that would be perfect.

Moss, Crabtree, Manningham, rookie/Williams, Ginn (Williams is on the bubble fighting with the rookie even though he's the #4 WR)

Lastly, I would go out NOW and pick up the best veteran RG we can find.

This will depend on Ginn because right now he's making it clear he wants to be not just a return guy and be more involved as a WR.

I think Williams would be just as good as a #3 and he can return Punts & Kicks as well. Grab Wallace and cut our losses with Crabtree.

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because Hill offers more potential than Wallace and at a lessor cost/price?

More potential than the nest deep threat in nfl? Wallace could be had if you front load a contract so his cap hit after 2 years would be pretty reasonable.

This isn't pointed at the poster, but rather Peter King. Pretty ridiculous idea now that the 49ers have signed Manningham and Moss plus they already have Crabs and Williams. Are they going to change to 3 wides every play? This is assuming Smith is back at QB right Peter?

A lot of things "may" happen. Adriana Lima "may" divorce her husband and fall in love with me. King must have been short on material before his deadline with that one.

No, she "may" not, I refuse to let it happen. She is not allowed. I have my own plans and I control her fate. Bwaahahaha

At this point signing Wallace would be stupider than stupid.

Trade up for Poe or trade down for future picks.

for the record, i would've luv to have Wallace but this year alone makes it hard to do so given the cost of the tag PLUS the first rd.

IMO, Hill, if he delivers as advertised, presents better matchup advantages for us both the deep threat and redzone. We're talking about a 6'4 gunner with a big frame vs a 6'0 burner...

Would I be upset, no, cause like you said Wallace is a proven NFL player that helps us tremendously in the offense.

But ATM I'd like to gamble on Hill, sitting at 30.

Given all the FAs signed/resigned, you would trade up for Poe rather than a G?

Absolutely. Years from now Poe will be the Vince Wilfork or Casey Hampton of this draft everyone wishes they selected.

The Niners can get a good ORG prospect in round 2.

with teams like dallas and others locking up vets at the guard position, i would rather wait and see if Decastro drops into our laps. i would hate to see us take a tight end in the first round.

ahh, a wilfork like impact... that I could get behind... I don't see how much playing time will open up for him though.

You might as well wait & see if Luck drops into our laps, because the chances of that are similar to Decastro dropping to 30.

exaggeration seems to always be your biggest contribution to most discussions. it was more of wishful thinking as i watch teams continue to sign linemen. crazier things have happened in the draft buddy.

Like your post of trading up for poe and guaranteeing he will be wilfork/hampton? you wouldnt call that wishful thinking? i guess not because you are an expert right? I dont see this when i turn on the game film of this year...

The irony in this statement notwithstanding... Yes, I was using hyperbole; but that doesn't take away from my completely valid point.

I'm not guaranteeing anything. There are no guarantees in the draft. And why would it be wishful thinking when it's extremely unlikely the Niners get him? That's kind of like saying it would be wishful thinking to say Decastro will be a HOFer.

I wish. They won't even accept our first if they have any say about it.

With the stupid poison pill rule they'd pretty much have to.

Since they're not getting a contract done and they'll have to franchise him next year to keep him around longer I thought maybe they'd consider a trade.
