He has to be fired because RG3 can never trust the Shanahan's again.

Why ?

Trust is a two way street.

If Griffin has been circumventing Mike & Kyle and getting Dan involved with how he would like the offense ran, then coaches might have lost trust in the Griffin also. Why else would Griffin feel confident enough to disrespect Kyle publicly unless his relationship with Dan was nice and cozy ?

Whether or not you believe the reason Mike gave publicly to shut down Griffin, Mike should have the authority to make that decision.

Mike is not going to say publicly, what I feel is the true reason he decided to start Cousins, that he wanted to see if Griffin would again run to Dan to intervene in the decision. Like spoiled children, Mike is forcing the owner & the QB to both acknowledge the HC is th ultimate authority when it comes to football operations.

Additionally, nothing gets Mike more upset then players who are not prepared. Griffin has been throwing horrible, high-school like, lock-on and read INTs. Griffin's inability to quick-release the ball is also major reason for so many sacks. Mike should have the authority as HC to bench a player if they are not performing. Even if that player is the franchise QB.

Down here in Atlanta the rumor is that Shanahan wants to be fired but the owner won't fire him because then he'd have to pay him $7 million. Also, RG3 was benched so that Shanahan can hopefully get himself fired.

Such is the rumor mill down here, anyway.

SSSHHHHIIIITTTTT.

Shit.

Now I'm confused. This is what I want now. I want RG3 to come out and say publically that he supports Coaches Shanahan and he would like them to return.

I then want Dan Snyder to come out and say, Mike is the coach in 2014...hopefully beyond.

I then want KC to come in and clean house. I then want to trade him for a first.

Then I want RG3 to win the SB in 2014 (dream).

This is conjecture but came from Vinny on the I hate the Redskins and Dukes show.

He figures Dan and his boys met late into the night Sunday night looking for a way not to pay Shanahan.
He thinks the contract is iron clad as it is written
He feels Shanahan wants to be fired and Dan wants him to quit.
Vinny's take on Cousins playing is that Mike and Kyle like Kirk and think he can win.
Two of the next three games are against bad defenses.
He believes Dan will continue to search for a reason to not pay Mike but in the end won't find it and
will fire Mike a couple of days after the season. Mike will get paid.
If Cousins succeeds he will have to be traded because he can't be hanging over Robert's head.

Hey, it is everybody take a guess time. I still say there is one constant throughout Dan's ownership and that is Dan himself. Nothing has ended well for any coach and I can't really think of any players it really ended well for. My feeling is that as long as Dan is the owner the Redskins will suck. Kind of just like Dallas and Jerrah.

Don't forget about the Atlanta Hawks! Until we change owners we'll never win a championship. Guaranteed.

{Adjusting my Horns for devils advocate mode}

As for the whole bad defenses angle..... RG3 couldnt get it done against

Dallas-- Defense 32nd in the league
Minnesota--- Defense 31st in the league
Denver--- Defense 25th in the league
Philly (Twice) Defense 30th in the league

Thats five games against five of the worst defenses in the league that we should have feasted on. Just saying.

My comment wasn't meant to mean Robert hasn't played against poor defenses.

It was just Vinny's perspective of what he thought might be going on. He said he doesn't know, it's just based on knowing Dan and what he thinks might be happening.

Think about the coaches Dan has hired. Two jokes in the old ball coach and Zorn. Three all time coaches in Marty, Joe II and Mike. In 9 combined years they had 3 winning seasons. I have heard so many things about the coaching yet the one constant is Dan. I don't believe any of them forgot how to coach or the game passed them by. Between those three guys they have close to 500 NFL wins.

There is only one constant through the last 15 years, 7 coaches, and 13 losing seasons. Its Snyder and the caustic environment he fosters, either through his meddling, bad hires, or asinine moves. I unfortunately have no faith that he will change.

I ask you this.....what coach worth their meddle would want to come here and work for him? Sure, we will finally find someone, but it will be someone either coming for the money (that never ends good) or an unproven, not ready asst or college coach (chances are that doesn't end well, either).

Sportster... I agree with you 100%

Thing is, I have always felt that every player should be held to a high standard, and the standard should be raised, not lowered for some one we are proclaiming a franchise QB. So yes it irks me a little some people are already in spin control mode JUST in case Cousins does well. Not saying you in particular. But since it was announced I have seen 4 articles saying basically Cousins will do well because he will play shit defenses. A Dozen saying Shanahan is only playing him to try and force being fired. And just as many saying Kirk is just the lamb to the slaughter. Im not hoping he some how takes Griffins job, because it will then mean a trade I already thought was bad, was the worst move in NFL history. But I am hoping he does well, with the same line and less of a roster to force the team as a whole and RG3 in particular to take a real hard look at his game and actually fix it. Worst thing for him right now is to have any one openly or even privately telling him... It wasnt your fault man. He says he feeds off the doubters and it helps make him better. Well I for one want him to have a Xmas dinner size plate of motivation when all is said and done.

I honestly would love for him to prove me totally wrong on the whole trade thing. But I dont think that happens if this becomes a coddle Rg3 fest that it has the potential to become.

Here's my thoughts. I have no clarity about anything at this point. The frenzy and media orgy and multiple agendas have left me depleted and exhausted as a fan.

I want to be hopeful and shut down the noise in my head, so I am going to try and focus solely on rooting for the team I love to win, no matter who is QBing it. I'm going to pray we get a win or two.

The thing I love most about football is good play on the field. Hope I get to see a bit of that for the remaining 3 games.

As long as it's not a total embarrassment, I will be satisfied, given the distractions surrounding this team.

Hail

Here's the thing, shark. If Cousins came in and lit it up and somehow became our franchise QB, I'd be estatic. I am not wed to a player, but to my team. I could care less at this point what we paid for a player or what round they were drafted in. If Cousins were to be a star for us and RG3 to be a bust, I'd still be fine with it.

But, in reality, I still feel RG3 has a much higher ceiling that Cousins. He had a tough year for a variety of reasons to include injury issues and lack of experience in skills required to be an NFL QB, among other things. But I also know the kid has unreal physical skills and his intelligence is off the chart. SO while you may be right that he was an option QB, that doesn't mean that's all he can be. He is not Vick or Jamarcus Russell. He is driven, he is focused. He is also young and immature and a bit full of himself right now. A lot of things came to him very quickly and he got wrapped up in it. Maybe this sitting will bring him back down to earth a bit.

My biggest concern for him is who is advising him. Who is his inner circle? He needs a mentor. If all he is listening to is his Dad or his agent, that could be a problem. I'm also concerned who the next HC will be and, maybe more importantly, who will be the QB coach. The kid will work, he just needs to work on the right things.

J-Y... we are both basically saying the same thing. Only real difference here is, Im not willing to just had the title of franchise to ANY player. Admittedly Griffin has the physical tools to get it done. IM concerned with where he is mentally. Which is why ultimately I think sitting him and Cousins doing extermely well IS actually in his best interest. Us winning with Cousins would serve as a sort of reality check for every one involved.

I'm not willing to hand the franchise player to anyone either. But I'm also not willing to throw any QB under the bus who had a second year that was disappointing considering what he went through. I also think I'm more understanding that almost all young QBs struggle with what RG3 is struggling with right now. He is not unique, the best QBs in the history of the game struggled their first few years with reading defenses, staring down receivers, and hanging onto the ball too long.

Agree he shouldnt be thrown under the bus. But also think alot of people both here and in the media have given him too big a pass for his part in the dysfunction as well.

I agree. Although I think the media in the last few weeks has made his life pretty tough. That, too, is a learning experience.

I've never seen such a circus in all my years watching football. I can't imagine any decent player or coach wanting to come to this team for the forseeable future. This franchise is crippled.

I guess it doesn't matter that this young QB just got serious surgery again, and rushed back to win and now is being tormented by everyone. I think he deserves a pass if hasn't responded perfectly in every situation OR if he has developed some sorta entitlement complex(needs to mature out of that). This franchise has been nothing....for many years, he did have a large role in turning it around.

oh yeah, i'm so confused but, mike and kyle need to go...
