He’s actually a super nice guy to be around.

Be he sure is a shitty owner.

And somebody is gonna find themselves indicted over the LCA’s shady funding.

It takes real effort to fuck up the Red Wings.

And oh thanks for Robbie Fucking Grossman man. What are we doing here? We've had 7 top 5 picks and you sign Julio Tehran to a minor league deal so you can keep dicking with their service time. A team with a 30 plus million dollar player has a sub 60 million payroll.

His 2012 triple crown season didn't get nearly the recognition it deserved IMO. First TC since Yaz in 1967 and hardly anyone seemed to care.
They were too busy jerking it to Mike Trout.

I expected a lot more resistance in this thread to his spot in HOF, then none. Pretty cool.
No resistance at all. Miggy is a slam dunk. And he still has 3 full seasons on his contract to get to these milestones with ease. Hoping he has 1-2 decent seasons left in the tank. I’d like to see him finish strong.

You can blame Sabermetrics de-emphasizing stats like batting average and RBI’s in today’s game. They’ve been replaced by the likes of OBP and WAR. Miggy definitely a victim of that.

Coming into 2021, Miggy has 487 homers and 2866 hits. He hopes to reach 500 homers and 3000 hits this year. If he makes those milestones, will he be a Hall of Famer?
He's an easy first-ballot Hall of Famer even if he never plays another game. But obviously those milestones will increase his vote-percentage or solidify it even more. As a Tigers fan with not much else to cheer about lately those 2 milestones are what I've mostly been rooting for these last couple years already.

Definitely is

but possibly the worst contract ever given out and feels like forever since he’s actually been good

It’s absolutely on the short list for worst contracts ever. But at least he’s still on the field and playing. Same with Pujols and his awful contract.

Worse contracts might be Chris Davis, Ellsbury, & Prince Fielder who didn’t even play.

Damn! Chris Davis still has 2 years left on that deal, too.

His last three years he’s batted .168 .179 and .115.....OPS+ was -7 last year.....Time to put a pillow over his head like the Chief did to McMurphy in Cuckoo’s Nest.....

-6.3 WAR in his last 4 seasons. His best WAR over that span is -0.6. Take out his 2013 and 2015 seasons and he'd have a career WAR of -0.9

Better off letting Joe Biden take a few swings......
