Coming into 2021, Miggy has 487 homers and 2866 hits. He hopes to reach 500 homers and 3000 hits this year. If he makes those milestones, will he be a Hall of Famer?

Miggy is a Hall of Fame person already. Just watch him interact with fans at games. He is one of the most approachable players in the history of the game. I met him when he played in the Midwest League and was having difficulty with English. He tried really hard to speak English everywhere he was.

My buddy had the opposite experience with him at a Marlins fan fest back in the day.

He's been a guaranteed future HOFer for at least 5 years now.

He was robbed in 2013 by Chris Davis HGH'd up season. So a trip crown in 2012 and first in avg, 2nd in home runs and rbi in 2013

he's a lock, the last 4 years don't really hurt his chances at all. he still has a career OPS+ of 147 (it was 155 prior to 2017). Clearly one of the best hitters of his generation, if not all time. His 2010-13 was a pretty spectacular stretch of hitting (.337/.425/.612, 178 OPS+, 156 HR, 507 RBI).

Made his major league debut at 20, and hit a walkoff homerun in his first game. I still remember it. Then won a WS at the end of his rookie season.

My favorite was the time he stopped by a Florida steakhouse and told the patrons he’d murder them all.

Or the time he beat the shit out of his teammate Avisail Garcia in the shower. Hurt himself in the process and has never been the same player since.

Has been a first ballot HOFer for years.

But let’s not pretend Miggy is some sweetheart of a man. He’s a fucking bully.

And mad props to Ozzie Guillén for fucking his brain.

Like I said I think he has a better view on life now but I'd be curious if that would be the case if he was still raking. I think part of his turnaround is that he wants/needs his money because of shit financial moves and he doesn't want to do anything to give the team an out.

That said I will always look back at that time in Detroit very fondly and Miggy was the biggest part of it aside from JV. Didn't get a WS but that was a nice run.

One of the best handful of hitters I’ve ever seen. And a much better defensive player than ever given credit for. Especially at first. Mostly at first. Anyway..

Better base runner than people who didn’t watch him play everyday will ever realize. You know what I’m sayin. He was one aggressive dude on the base paths.

Really thought we’d see more prime Miggy and Prince back to back. Good times while they happened for sure.
