Oh, and when UW did beat up Oregon year after year it had no impact. It didn't matter because Oregon didn't matter. All that mattered was beating USC, whoever was hot that year, and the cougs.

Maybe so but with Washington & Michigan there's some history between those two teams along with a few similarities. Older fans such as myself remember the four times Don James Washington teams played Bo Schembechler's Michigan teams in the Rose Bowl with those games being split 2 - 2 although Michigan holds the over all series by a 7 - 5 margin. Both Michigan and Washington's football programs have been around longer than Ohio St. and Oregon, both UW and UM play in iconic football stadiums, both have instate conference rivals, and both schools are well known academic powerhouses in regards to public universities. When Michigan and Washington meet up its something of a champagne & oyster crowd whereas Oregon is more of a Keystone Ice & chicken wing thing with their FCS size stadium and community college level academics.
@MAIZEandBLUE09 and that's how it's done. ;)

The Horseshoe and Autzen are certainly iconic as well.

So, you're saying the Washington-michigan game will be more interesting to the 65+ crowd. The other 85% of the nation will be more interested in the two teams that have actually accomplished things recently.

What have they accomplished?

tOSU - gets crub stomped after hitting Clemson pretty boy QB

Whoregon - didn't even get to the playoffs, some freshman QB playing for Herm made sure of that!

As opposed to Washington, who finished 4 games outside of 1st place in the division.

No captain butt plug stay on task he said "accomplished" this ain't about Washington!

Right, any conversation about accomplishments (by definition) excludes the Huskies.

Saturday September 5th. Husky Stadium, Seattle, WA.

This will be the first game of a two game home & home series (this year and next). Both teams will be starting new QB's. A storied history between these two programs for sure.

Michigan
Last year: 9-4 (lost to Alabama 35-16 in Citrus Bowl)
Schedule highlights: Sept. 5 at Washington, Sept. 26 vs. Wisconsin, Oct. 3 vs. Penn State, Oct. 10 at Michigan State, Nov. 28 at Ohio State

After Shea Patterson started the past two seasons at quarterback, Michigan will have a new look with Joe Milton or Dylan McCaffrey. Neither has the experience of Patterson, but the Wolverines could end up with an upgrade at the position. There also should be plenty of talent returning defensively and waiting in the wings. The offensive line must replace three starters, and how the newcomers come together could determine if Michigan finishes with fewer than three losses for the first time under Jim Harbaugh.

Washington
Last year: 8-5 (defeated Boise State 38-7 in Las Vegas Bowl)
Schedule highlights: Sept. 5 vs. Michigan, TBA at Oregon, TBA at USC, TBA at Utah

After six seasons, the Chris Petersen era came to an end at Washington, when he announced he was stepping down after the Las Vegas Bowl. Defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake takes over as the head Husky. Lake’s priorities will be replacing eight senior starters and junior quarterback Jacob Eason, who opted to leave early for the NFL Draft. The Huskies’ defense should be their strength, featuring three players — LB Edefuan Ulofoshio and DBs Asa Turner and Trent McDuffie — who started as freshmen last season.

This is a tough one. Washington under performed this year, don't know what to expect. On the other hand, Michigan is retarded... but that also comes with chimp level retard strength.

Its a toss up at this point lol.

I'm thinking a 7 - 6 final score type game.

Amazing how a thread about UW v Michigan is attracting so much hate from duck and buck fans.

Yeah, not really that amazing lol.

It must really burn you up that Oregon is so much more popular than UW nationally.

Well that, and getting curbstomped by the Ducks for most of this century.
Washington is only a regional brand, not fair to compare the two.

God, how fricken predictable. A thread about another PAC team is going on, and all the Duck fans crash it to try to make it about themselves.
