I'm moving the goal posts?
Yes, you are moving the goalposts. You said:
It's been well documented that teams will not engage the Dodgers unless we give up a blue chipper.
Then, I recalled the busy offseason and you changed your statement to:
What active trades are you talking about outside of minor league/periphery players? The only trade for major players was essentially a 5 team trade, a unicorn in the baseball world:
"It all looked nice and clean, sketched out on the whiteboard that covered part of the wall in the war room. At one point, Dodgers president Stan Kasten even stopped to take a picture of the five-team, 16-player trade diagram with his iPhone."
The Los Angeles Dodgers' forward-thinking front office is a force to be reckoned with
Outside of that deal, the Dodgers have not traded for a major piece.
So, for those keeping score, you said no trades without blue chippers. Then I brought up the recent trades. Then you said that doesn't count because it involves 4 other teams.
So no one will engage the Dodgers except for the big trades with the Angels (cross town rivals!), Padres (same division!), Phillies, and Marlins. Plus the other trades for Peralta (Rays), Heisey (Reds), Bolsinger (Dbacks! Same division!), etc. which don't count?
Not even mentioning the millions of smaller trades, which goes to about every team.
But when you post something asinine it's a joke.
You are a strange dude.
I have something in common with Ned Colletti, and it's that I'm not involved with decision-making for the Dodgers. There is no way I could know what exact trades the Dodgers would make. Coletti is a "senior advisor" in name, and a broadcaster for SNLA in reality. Sure, they'll take his opinion. He's not stupid. But, come on, he doesn't even have anything close to a final word on any move the Dodgers make. I would be shocked if his opinion went much further than that of Tommy Lasorda.
