Didn't get to watch the game, but it seems like we did okay, not good, but okay. Good enough for the win as style points don't matter. But with the Sixers coming up, hopefully Miami doesn't overlook that they're a shitty team. We need to get as many wins now before the schedule starts to amp up.
The biggest issue Philly has had is an unbelievably high turnover number - if we can turn them over enough to match their rate or more - we should be fine and win with ease. Chances will be there for the Heat to steal some points from them, if they take advantage - we should win no problem - if we don't, this game will be unnecessarily close.
This should put to rest any of the stupid nonsense some were saying yesterday about Amare being " pissed" and "regretting" coming to Miami simply because of how he played in the first quarter only to later not get a single second of playing time. This isn't the Amare of old. This guy is obviously after something bigger - playing time, money, his ego are of least importance to him at this point in his career.
This is the type of guys the Heat want and go after - he wouldn't be here otherwise. Always great how people like to find ways to trash Spo and the coaching staff, even if it means reaching to say nonsense like this. For a while now, the Heat have sought out players who can accept the role of not playing much or on a regular basis for the sake of the bigger picture - The Heat simply will not acquire a guy to the team that doesn't buy into that.
I know I am in the minority in this, but I think the Heat have enough 3pt shooters on the team. The problem is, for one, they have to get it going consistently - another is, that may never happen because this team is better off taking it to the basket. Getting into 3pt shootouts is never good for this team.
Depending on where you look the Heat are favored by -12, -14, -15 for this game. I would say the Heat should win by no less than 12 and as much as 15 or higher give how Philly turns the ball over.
I didn't find the Whiteside quote that profound. Don't get me wrong.. I love Whiteside. All great shot blockers get dunked on. NBA talent will eventually catch you slow footed or just bad timing and boom... the whole crowd erupts and you're falling backwards as someone is swinging on your basket. I saw Grant Hill catch Alonzo nasty once. It happens. What Whiteside said is just kind of how NBA shot blocking works.
@ShandelRich will be covering the Heat game tonight for the sentinel in place of Ira - in case you guys want to read in-game tweets. Will post stuff here that is relevant and worth reading as always
Wade with the first lazy pass of the night that goes for a turnover and points for Philly- its that kind of crap that will keep them in the game longer than they should. Blowout early otherwise
