If Hassan is not there best player, who is? It does not matter. Heat not handling this well. If they want to trade him, they are doing themselves no favors by notmanaging the situation as this just drives his value down. They had to fine him, but this has been brewing and has not been managed well. If we were winning it would be one thing, but him sitting and then ya losing to some really bad teams gives him much credence.
We are playing to other teams strengths and not our own. Such is life when you have an untouchable coach who gets too much credit for winning 50 percent of the time with 3 of the 25 best players in the game at the time he had them plus one Shame Battier. Lebron proved with his two coaches that what Spolestra did should not be overstated.
Dragic is better than him....so is Olynyk. Richardson is hands down the best 2 way player on the team. When JJ is playing like this, he is also better than this version of Whiteside.....now if we had the Whiteside from last season then I would agree with you.
Whiteside has been a disappointment this year.
Maybe if Whiteside had a consistent post game then they wouldn't have to play to other teams strengths. Sorry but Whiteside just isn't good enough in the post to have him out there when he is a defensive liability due to a team going small.
The reality is Bam and Kelly both fit in this NBA more than Hassan. Kelly is a stretch 5 and can guard the opposing 5 when teams go small and as for Bam, he is so much better than Hassan on defense. He is so good that it allows Miami to switch screens if needed when he is in the game.
Not sure what you mean by Miami not handling it well? At the end of the day, the goal is to win basketball games so they're not going to leave him out there if the opponent has a stretch 4 playing center who is a 40% 3 point shooter. The only person who's not handling it well is Hassan. He made comments months ago that came off as selfish as he made it very clear that he didn't agree with the Heat improving the roster last summer by drafting Bam and signing Kelly.
Against most teams in the league ending the game with JJ/Kelly as the 4/5 is the way to go. Can't have Whiteside out there as a defensive liability.

Wade was 5-16 and he played 8 more minutes at 36 than Hassan. Double standard. It does not fly.
Get where you're coming from but spo never said Hassan was benched due to bad play. He made it clear that it was a match up problem since brooklyn went extremely small.
A couple of interesting points you made. First, Hassan was very good last year. He has been hurt a fair amount this year, but do you think it is coincidence that he has gotten worse as he has gotten less minutes? We started down this road of sitting himat crunch time and over time that gets to peopeople especially as we are losing games to the likes of Sacramento and the Nets when our highest paid player is not out on the floor. When Hassan was out, you saw what big boy centers did to the Heat.
And all I am saying is that such strategy has not worked out well against the NETS. We went 1-3 against them. Maybe we should have gone big. It could not have gone worse right? We lost the game anyway and created a storm on the team.
If we kept going big, the game doesn't get to OT and we likely lose by double digits. We allowed 13 points in the final 10 minutes of the 4th after moving JJ to C so it did help a bit.
Maybe. We do know we lost the game playing their game. Hassan was minus one on the night.
True but Hassan should be mad at Olnyk more than Spo IMO. Kelly is the reason he didn't return to the game
Fair enough. Kelly was -7. Seems like we might be moving on soon unless Riley can right the ship. Just hate that we bought high and may sell low.
