Another reason why not getting a 3 point specialist would be failing the team and fans miserably

Yes still a lot of season left but unless a move is made, the 3 point shooting will not get better. We have 0 shooters on this roster. A move must be made to acquire a shooter.

I know people will disagree with me on this but I believe we have those in Deng and McRob - they just need to be consistent at it. Hell , even Udrih is capable. He is shooting about 35% from 3 for his career.

The Heat are stuck between wanting to and needing to be a team that needs to run and open it up to accommodate some guys on the team, but having to play a more inside out approach to accommodate others.

Hopefully they start to find their way tonight. After such a lopsided FT margin last game , I expect them to hopefully be in more of attack mode tonight - And hopefully that will open the floor for 3pt shots.

But I am more worried about this team defending the 3 than make it. Thats why taking care of the ball and taking quality shots every time down the court is important - so we don't have to always depend on the 3 to keep us or stay in games.

Tonight is the first night of our first b2b of the season - I know a few guys on the team aren't fond of that - so its crucial to get going tonight early. A very tough division opponent in ATL who we already lost to in game 2 of the season is next.

The Hawks have the day off today

Being able to hit 3's is different than being a specialist. We need a dead eye shooter. Haven't had one since 2014.

And this is our 2nd B2B of the year. Had one earlier this season in Minny and Indy.

You are correct on both fronts. My bad. When the losses pile up I get into a bit of a daze.

So a 3pt specialist you say, now the question is who is available? Who out there fits that mold that also fits what the Heat would be willing to spend/give up to get him?

I don't know who is available. But last year we missed out on one when Gary Neal was available. He is now shooting 43% from 3

Career night for Ennis vs former team? If any team is capable of allowing that to happen its the Heat

Pregame note of note: Memphis leads the NBA in free-throw percentage (.826) and is making its foul shots at what would be a near¿historic rate. The NBA single¿season record for free-throw percentage is .832, set by the 1989¿90 Boston Celtics. Three Grizzlies rank in the Top 25 in the NBA in free-throw percentage, including Courtney Lee (.925, 3rd), Jeff Green (.871, 20th and former Heat guard Mario Chalmers (.867, 25th).

This means the Heat can't commit dumb fouls, which they always do - And that they need to be aggressive and get to the FT line but also make them at a high rate - which they don't often do.

All the Heat need to do is play their game and the rest will be fine
