Tua can’t stay healthy - only played a full season once. That being said when he’s healthy he should be ranked higher than #24 in the NFL it seems - I mean he had a nearly 73% completion rate last season and averaged 260 yards a game, in 2023 when he played all 17 games he threw for 4,600 yards and had a 69% completion rate. That’s better than #24 in the NFL IMO, I don’t know what exactly they are basing that on but those are pretty good numbers, I’m not saying Tua is great/top tier, he’s not, but he’s not subpar either, when healthy he’s a decent QB who can lead a potent offense.
And before you accuse me of being a Fins fan, I’m not, I’m a Falcons fan, I have no bias one way or the other with the Fins, I’m just pointing out that Tua is a capable QB and the Fins should be able to score points if he stays healthy. But that’s a huge if, he is constantly hurt it seems and the O-Line is rather iffy.
Very little to argue with there.
I will add that Tua can't seem to perform in big games against winning teams. Not all his fault but it has tainted his perceived value.....

Yeah and the Fins have struggled on the road a lot in recent seasons under McDaniel. They just can’t get over the hump. Like I say, unless they have a surprisingly good season, I think McDaniel is gone

coming up on 9 years.
Very impressive Southie.
True dedication towards the cause.
Tip of the cap.
In my opinion, Mike McDaniel is already on the hot-seat and will be fired - short of a miracle season for Miami.....

I'm expecting the McDaniel to be gone after or late in the 2025 season. Hill will get dumped as well or do one of his "I'm out" type of thing and Tua will miss at least 3-4 games. The rebuild, if you can call it that will enter into phase 6 or 7 or what every that number is now. Where's Palo when you need him??

Yeah the Dolphins are clearly going to be rebuilding, I don’t see them having a good year this season. With Ramsey gone they look pretty terrible at corner, and while Fitzpatrick helps at safety (which looks awful as well) I expect their secondary to get torched. And edge rush is a huge question with Chubb and Phillips having major injuries to come back from. Now they have no experience at TE as well, and the O-Line is shaky. They are going to need Tua to have his best year and for their O to put up a ton of points if they are going to be a competitive team. If Tua gets banged up again, and we all know there’s a good chance of that, the Fins could be one of the worst teams in the NFL this year. McDaniel is toast barring a major surprise IMO.

"According to Pro Football Focus, the Dolphins are making these big trades to help move some money around."

For as much crap as I give the Dolphins for keeping Tua out there even though he keeps getting concussed, he is 38-24 as a starter. I think the issue I see is that when he goes up against the top defenses he looks really limited compared to the elite QBs. IIRC Andy Dalton was similar when he was on the Bengals. Good enough to be frisky but not good enough to win anything important.

I think Tua is pretty good overall when healthy, but yeah he has trouble against top defenses and in big games. The Fins are going to have to put up a ton of points if they are going to have a decent season this year, because their D looks pretty dismal.

They had the 9th ranked D last year. On paper it looks good until you get to outside CB. I think they have slot CB down prob. That has to be the worst CB room at outside CB in the league, though.

So they'll have to hide their CB problem by having light boxes but the Bills are one of the best running teams in the league and the Bills want to run the ball. To beat the Bills I think you have to do the opposite of what Miami will want to do - you'll want to stack the box and have DBs that the Bills WRs can't beat.

Miami probably still needs to sign a CB or two.

I think the Fins have the worst secondary in the NFL on paper right now. Yeah the corner position looks weak and at safety only the newly added Fitzpatrick is a proven solid starter. I expect the Fins to get torched by strong passing offenses, not to mention a lot of their edge rush relies on Chubb and Phillips, both of whom are coming off major injuries, who knows if they’ll be fully healthy or how productive they’ll be.
