Game Thread: Miami Dolphins - GB Packers Game Thread

Packers are a top 5 pass defense but bottom 5 in the run. Their D-line gives up huge runs up the middle consistently. If you guys don't get down early and can keep Rodgers off the field and Tanny doesn't turnover the rock I would expect this game to be close. We struggle vs teams outside our own division unless they're pathetic teams. I wouldn't call your team pathetic so it's very possible for you to pull out a win. If you need to make a pass the TE in the middle of the field will be open all day. If the run is working simply fake the run on second down and pump fake towards Shields which will allow a wide open TD bomb if the pass is accurate. Keep running up the middle until we prove we can stop it.

The funny thing here is the fins could have drafted a QB that year in 2 or 3 round. There two that are playing real well, they could have had; Foles and Wilson. Crap they could have even gotten Cousins, though he is not looking like as good this year as he did last year, but has better stats then Tannekill does. I'm just tried of the list of 1st round busts they have picked over last 7-8 years

Cough Pat White cough cough.....its just a little bit suspicious to me how Parcels hasn't come under fire( at all) for the pathetic job he did while employed by Miami. EVERY DAMN PICK he had a part of made absolutely no difference with this team. I'm not even sure there is any of his players still left on the team, and I have little desire to research it. Jeffy Ireland did no better....Parcels and his heir apparent made a dumpster fire out of this franchise....thanks for nothing Billy Boy. I truly wish you had gone to Atlanta.

Good point, lets look at some of the recent 2nd round draft picks as well;

Jamar Taylor 2013 - has he played much?
Jon Martin 2012 - we all know what happened there, probably could have been decent player?
Daniel Thomas 2011 - bust
Koa Misi 2010 - good player
Pat White 2009 - bust
Phillip Merling 2008 - bust
John Beck 2007 - bust
Derek Hagen 2006 - bust
Matt Roth 2005 - OK player
Will Poole 2004 - bust

6 bad picks at #2 spot for last ten years. You need to get 1 and 2 round players that will make impact first or second year, they can't be "projects". I really cringed on that Pat White pick. Those QB types don't produce well in NFL

This has become a 'passing league', to say the least. You either HAVE top flight qb and your team consistently makes the playoffs, or you do not and your team is mediocre at best. Any guesses which one Miami is? Green Bay going away, 31-20. Normally I don't care for crow, but I would love a steaming plate of it in the event that I'm wrong.

Keys to the game:

Win coin toss, take the ball - make it a long, methodical scoring drive that ends in a TD
Get the TE’s and RB’s involved in the passing game early especially if Moreno is in the game. Get Wallace going early.

On defense, we need to bring the pressure and disguise the looks on defense to make sure Aaron is never comfortable - if you do that, he will never be comfortable and never get into a rhythm

Special teams will be imporant in this game - lets hope we get that fixed this week

Pouncey out on the field - uncertainty as to whether he plays C or Guard. I would leave Satele at C and move Pouncey to G - he is versatile enough to do that. And we do need Satele in the lineup

As expected, #Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno is active. OL Mike Pouncey also will start at RG, according to the inactives.

Per Dolphins ESPN beat writer, James Walker. I like our OL look right now. I hope this fan base can apperciate what the Fins front office did in acquiring Satele again after Pouncey had to miss some games - now we have to quality vets anchoring our OL, and familiar guys - to go along with big Branden Albert.

Stability within our OL has finally arrived, it seems.

Not having Gibson active stings a bit - a good possession WR - though we are loaded there. For depth purposes it hurts not to have either Smith, Fox or Turner but with Pouncey back, we should be ok.

If Jones isn't ready to play sit him...especially in the redzone! I agree in this game don't defer...wear that D down right from the start. At least they got 3.
