Not really interested in how Hayward does. He could have let the Jazz know he chose Boston earlier so we could have moved earlier in free agency. Or been competitive by staying with us. Or thrown the ball back at Deron Williams. Or helped walk grandmothers across the street on Christmas. Or donate French poodles to orphans or give the homeless X-Boxes to underprivileged donuts. Or spend less time x-raying Mike Tyson’s right elbow. Or chewed with his mouth closed when watching Old Yeller. Or helped Shaq change lightbulbs for the Irish. Or finished helping Burger King prepare their paper crowns for Jimmy’s birthday party. Or stop chasing the cat on Tuesdays at Tiffany’s.
He let them know on July 4, only 4 days into free agency.

The Jazz then signed Jerebko on 7/17, O'Neale on 7/19, and re-signed Ingles on 7/21. So they did pretty well.

Good rest of the post.

Some people think Hayward had wanted to leave all along. I don't know, I think a decision like changing teams doesn't happen until free agency starts, and the player and family have time to consider the alternatives.

I think the same way about Aldridge. A lot of Portland fans think Aldridge knew well in advance he was going to leave Portland, during the 2015 offseason. Again, I think Aldridge didn't know until he actually met with the Spurs, and decided that was his next stop.

But, fair enough, I won't ask you as often what you think of Hayward. I'll just mention him from time to time, for myself, if he does something interesting.

Also, out of all of the gripes you stated above about Hayward, you missed one of the big ones I have with him.

His sad reaction at learning he was going to have another daughter. That video is one of the reasons I don't think I like gender reveal videos. Most of them have the father excited at a boy / disappointed at a girl. If that's the way things are, I don't want to see them anymore.

I don’t dislike him. I don’t think he betrayed the Jazz. I don’t put him in the same place as other players. I just don’t particularly pay attention to how he does on another team. However, for someone like Alex Smith, I will follow him no matter where he goes. I watched Lakers games when Malone went there because I went to college at the same time in Southern California.

Thanks.

I pay attention because there's not many passing SG/SFs, so he has a rare skill.

I've always been critical of his "shooting" though. His percentages, for his career, aren't that great. I call him a sour shooter.

This year, is different, though, so for his sake, I hope he does shoot +.500.

The same way I rooted for Kover to have a 50% FG, 50% 3 point %, 90% FT season, in 2014-2015, when he was on Atlanta. I want to see some of these players do really great things, if they are within striking range.

So Hayward is either a small forward or a sour guard, but maybe not this year.

Are you sure you didn't say the magic words, when submitting that last post?

Beating Milwaukee would be big. But I still wouldn’t say those words. But also, our lead would be gone if we lost. Darn teams can’t beat Lakers in OT. Lakers this year are like the Chiefs in the regular season, barely win games but wins them and Super Bowl/Finals bound.

What if the Jazz have a super blowout of Milwaukee? What if the Jazz have a 3 game stretch of super blowout wins?

Without a ring, I won’t say it and even then, it would be qualified (right now, at this moment, etc.).

Maybe I'll ask the admin to camouflage your qualifier so no one can see it.

Prior to this year, when was the last time the Jazz had the best winning %, with at least 8 games played?

In 2006-07, the Jazz started 12-1 and that was the best. They may have been first beyond that but I already checked that all the other playoff teams had two or more losses in the first ten. The Jazz were shortly 18-6 or something after that so I don’t think it lasted long. This is cert the longest we’ve been since 1998.

What was the earliest date, with at least 8 games played, that they had the best record in 1997-1998?

Yes, 2006-2007 was a good one. They had a 37-4 home record. I wish they went undefeated.

In 2015-2016, the Spurs had their first home loss in their 40th home game of the season. I was disappointed they couldn't go undefeated.

I don't know if 14 points is a super blowout. A blowout is 10 points.

A super blowout is probably 17 points.

11-16 is probably medium blowout.

Yeah, it isn’t. Now, 20 points with 3.3 seconds is. ;)
