I hate to interrupt this cat fight, but I would like to interject this:

The reason most Ohio State fans are upset about McMurphy's initial (and now known to be false) report that Zach Smith was arrested in 2015 is this:

I think if Urban Meyer is ever allowed to talk about this, he will give this (entire plausible, IMHO) explanation of what happened at media day:

I received a text stating that there was a report that Zach Smith had been arrested in 2015. We checked to make sure, but there was "nothing there". The answers I gave were in that context. I should have been more clear that this was what I was saying I had no knowledge of. He went too far in the questioning afterwards and for that he is paying a tremendous price.

I have stated many times he should have made a statement saying they had removed a coach for non-performance related reasons and refused to answer any questions.

For McMurphy to simply edit that out of the story with no acknowledgement of his error is piss poor journalism. If you don't call someone a hack after that kind of BS, when would you?
No qualms with any of that. All possible. And I have called him a hack and said he's guilty of shoddy work at the minimum. I'm simply unwilling to say for sure he LIED about seeing the form with that X on it until there is something resembling proof, not just a lack yet of posting copies of what he saw when he hasn't been asked for it. That simply isn't proof of LYING. That's it, that's all.

How shoddy his work really was will for sure be fair game after the report. Same with Snook and every other source jumping on this thing.

So you have proof that there is no arrest checked in the report/s they are holding onto and can’t release to the public? Seriously use common sense, with everything that’s going on which one seems more plausible?
Again, nice speculation.

What seems plausible, given the bumbling shitjob McMurphy has done so far, is that he saw a report and thought it said he was arrested when it actually didn't. I'm not saying he is intentionally lying, but I am saying it's far from a reach to think he messed that up to, just like he has other aspects of his report.

I've given that as an explanation for Meyer's comments multiple times and have been called an idiot and a homer. I completely believe that's a fair thing to say.

See, we keep trying to have a conversation and then you go full stupid again. No, there isn't a bit of bias at all. How can you even suggest it when I'm calling him a hack to begin with? I literally have zero bias because I have zero interest AT ALL in the outcome. I couldn't possibly have less bias unless I just moved here from Mars.

No one is giving him any kind of free pass. At all. I'm not 'excusing' anything. At all. Period. I'm not sure how many ways you need to be told he botched up parts of this thing from the jump? That's a different thing that making the BOLD claim he flat out lied. Mistakes, shoddy work, bad editing, etc are NOT the same thing as lying and fabricating things. You need PROOF to jump to the next level and you have none. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Not one shred. ALL you have is a lack of a posted document no one credible has asked for. It's ludicrous to suggest that's proof of anything resembling lying and having an agenda. I'll stick with logic until we have the facts. And it's far more logical to think he saw something and was given a different version and that what he saw wasn't the same thing as your homer site has. That is where most of the world is until the report comes out. Until there is actual proof he LIED there is no reason at this point to accuse him of it.
I've said this at least half a dozen times to you now. I'm not saying he lied, but I am saying it's very possible that he saw a report and thought it said arrested, or maybe was just told he was arrested, and instead of doing the responsible thing - following up with the Powell PD to confirm - he just printed it. When someone is that careless about one of the major facts of a report, it calls his credibility into question.

This is as clear as I can be.

He never said one actually came out. He said "if" one came out. The old report from 2015 is also already out and it doesn't say arrest, so where did this one that supposedly says arrest come from? And where is it now? If McMurphy saw it, it has to be out there somewhere, right?
You assume 'seeing it' and 'having a hard copy on hand' are equal do you?

You assume that the ONLY explanation is he saw the same report as 11w and misreported that box was checked and lied about it afterward. That's the ONLY possible thing that could have happened here. That's it, he fucking lied that asshole!

I'm not saying that is impossible because everything is possible until the facts are in. I'm saying it is less likely given a lack of actual proof and his body of work. There are literally OSU troll farms going 24/7 trying to dig up every possible angle of dirt on McMurphy. If there was something that resembled proof of lying they would have it out fast and to mainstream media.

He's more likely guilty of bad reporting, not what your fans want to accuse him of. Hell, bad reporting is bad enough and still ends up with full vindication if true so why the need to go farther than that unless there is PROOF?

You can't have it both ways. If he misreported what he first saw and is STILL to this moment holding that he did see a form with that box checked he is indeed lying about it right now. Right this minute today he's lying. Doesn't matter if he's lying to cover up shitty work or because he's been lying about more and has it out for Meyer/OSU. It's a lie either way.

He either did physically see a form with that box checked, or he didn't. If he did he's telling the truth. If he didn't he's lying. Until there is proof he didn't see one I'm not ready to call the man a liar.

FIRST, we both are speculating.

You would have more of a point of that same chief of police didn’t say any report indicating an arrest was a mistake of humor error. Or if all reports on this incident/s were out. But they aren’t and that police chief said that.

You are SPECULATING because some Ohio State site posted 1/2 reports that must be good enough. Even though you yourself have admitted not all reports are out.

I’m more than willing to say it could go ethier way but I’m using those facts I listed about along with McMurphys edit to make my decision for what that report/s May have said.

Alreafy did Tom Herman press conference. Where Tom Herman refused to answer when questioned about his knowledge of the abuse. No different than Meyers claim at media day. Which says more than a non existing police report. Or texts that could have been altered by a biased source. Again McMurphy has been careless and that’s evident in his edits. You can believe what you want but I’m waiting for an actual report. Not that of a questionable source. Whether that source is McMurphy or Snook....It is a pretty big double standard tho
So both Herman and McMurphy state clearly he wasn't the lead for this story, but his not wanting to answer more is proof he's lying?

There are a whole lot of people (certainly including you) continuing to make outrageous claims without proof. Most of us have said over and over there are few things that are factually known at this point because of all of the misinformation and muddled conflicting information out there. We won't know who the winners and losers are until after the official report. I'll wait for that, and the follow up to it by all involved, before I make blanket claims about who is lying, who is entirely telling the truth, and what (if anything) happened wrong around any of this stupid situation.

There nothing outrageous about them. If you consider McMurphy as lying thats your call. I do question McMurphys credibility. When McMurphy carelessly reported internet news as fact. Claiming he had evidence he later altered. And failed to print a retraction .Because he "Has it out for Urban Meyers " smh.I would think its much more logical that McMurphy put out misleading information and edited it for monetary gain and the job he acquired in the process.

Its also hard not to claim bias if one accepts the McMurphy report as fact. While dismissing snook because...OSU. As i said theres a lot of double standards being used here. As well as assumptions. Based on a journalist who should be held to some form of standards. Which is exactly why Im waiting for the investigation and real story.....

You know what I think about what's going on right now. If Meyer did what he was supposed to do he should be okay. If he didn't he should be fired. The quicker a conclusion is made the better. Regardless of the outcome. But for everyone going back & forth on this I ran across this article from the Chicago Tribune. I didn't read it, the title just got my attention.

Urban Meyer may face suspension, but don't expect him to lose his job at Ohio State

The problem is once it hit Social it blew up. Like everything on social usually does. There are no actual facts everything’s been edited. More times than jimmy jam wears khakis in a year. OSU did the right thing. Put Meyers on paid leave. Remove Meyers and the program from the media circus. And perform an investigation to get the actual facts. And put the issue to bed one way or the other

That would be intelligent. It’s good for recruiting updates etc...As far as news it’s far from reliable as you can see with this whole thing

The only reliable news source in the universe is the onion.com.

Ok — let me ask you this — say that there is no report that says he was arrested, only a domestic violence report with no box checked. What does that change?

Who are they going to get the actual facts from? The wife? Smith? The cops? OSU AD? Meyer. They all have very little credibility.
The truth is probably shes a bitch, he abused her, Urban let him stay longer than he should have, the AD is useless and the cops are idiots.

You're basing this on a social media report that has been changed multiple times? I would like to think our legal system is more reliable. Than Social media.....You're assuming Meyers knew more than he may have imo. What was your opinion on the SC incident last year?

This is another one of your red herring nonsense posts.

I'm saying CLEAR AS FUCK that I question the credibility of every damned person involved in this case. ALL OF THEM. 100%. I can't possibly be more clear. We won't have the evidence to support any theory or gut feeling until the report comes out. That will happen soon and then the follow up to that where whatever they put out there gets responded to. THEN we will have some level of clarity on all these murky things.

You can keep talking out both sides of your ass and say you are waiting for the report... while also saying who is lying before it comes out, but I simply choose not to play that game.

Snook appears to have made an erroneous story making claims fully refuted. Meyer could have made this all have gone away from it started by being truthful or simply saying nothing. McMurphy shouldn't release a story he isn't able to handle without an editorial board and clearly did some questionable things. Courtney has reasons to not be honest, even if that isn't proof. Zack and his OVI as well as the other proven incidents makes him questionable at best. Courtney's mom is all over the map on credibility.

The whole damned thing is a complete fuster cluck. We won't KNOW the answers to most questions until after the report.
