Banking on that gaudy all-time opening day record to bail them out again.

But hey, as long as he's still drinkin them Papi Milkshakes, give him the rock.

The mets season is over before it even starts because collins is they're manager and bob geren is their bench coach, both losers.. sandy alderson is way overrated too :L

I'm no Mets fan but it's safe to assume that d'Arnaud, Wright and Granderson can improve on their 2014 output. And I know he's about to turn 36 and he was hurt and he played in Colorado, but Cuddyer should be a significant upgrade over what they got from EY Jr and Chris Young. Wilmer Flores will likely be a better hitter than Ruben Tejada. (don't ask about his defense though)

I think the offense will be OK, and the team will win around 80-84 games.

It's a senority thing, nothing more and nothing less. I recall Joe Torre doing this as well.

Still think they'll go with 1 of their young guys first before Colon.

Eh, who cares? Mets could still use another bat, they don't have a leadoff hitter and their defense will likely be below average. They won't contend for the World Series but I think they'll come close to a playoff birth. They have plenty of solid bats, their rotation is up there with the best in the majors and their bullpen should be a strength. Deal an arm or 2 to plug some holes throughout the season and then see what's going on with free agency next year.

Wheeler likely needs Tommy John, fuck! Good thing we didn't trade any of our pitching depth. Hoping him and Harvey don't turn in to Wood/Prior 2.0. The number of TJ cases is just unreal, this is an epidemic. Might as well just require guys to get this surgery before they enter the league, it's becoming par for the course.

Unless you pitch for the Giants. Probably a small sample size but other than Brian Wilson I can't think of any Giants pitchers who have had to do TJ surgery.

It'll end up being Wheeler or DeGrom..imho....but if Colon is still with the team by opening day and gets the nod, then there's nothing wrong with that either.

LGM!!!

Wheeler is out for the year
