Mets should start shopping Colon now. His value will never be greater than it is right now.

They'll wait until after Syndergaard and Matz are ready to be promoted but until then I'm happy having this vet in the rotation. You know exactly what you'll get with him every time he goes out on the mound.

The Mets are off to the same start they had in 1986. I understand that the 86 team was expected to win 100 games (they won 108 that year) and this year's team is expected to be slightly above .500, but it's a fun comparison.

he should have to run wind sprints all the way back to atlanta for getting tagged out by a 42 year old pitcher...

Bartolo will be 53 yrs old next month and is the wrong side of 3 bills.

BC was born May 24, 1973 but in ajs defense he aint no spring chicken either plus his knees are shot from catching all those years.... still embarrassing, make him throw the ball at least once in the rundown

I guess some of the Mets fans that wanted Colon out of town or at least didn't want him to start opening day have changed their minds. The old guy still knows how to win.

Ironic, the Mets desperately wanted to trade Bartolo Colon this off season but didn't want to pick up any of the money on his contract. Colon will be 42 in 2 weeks, not a lot of MLB teams were lining up to pay $11M to a 42 year old pitcher with a history of PED use, and rightly so. The Mets basically got lucky because they couldn't move him. Sometimes the best moves a team makes are the moves they don't make.
