It's good to see Buchanan is pitching well today and headed for a 3rd straight win - if the Phillies can get some more runs in to nail it down.

That is Buchanan's first walk today. He has made some mistakes back in the fifth and this may be another one.

Damn it. den Dekker hits a double and it is tied. This is the sort of thing that has killed us all year and nearly every time it starts with giving up a walk. Buchanan is done and DeFratus is going to finish this side.

This inning has nobody out and the runners are on the corners. Now they are conceding a run with an infield hit. This is such BS.

You could just see that coming. Recker nailed a hanging slider right down the middle with a huge shot to left center and there is still no outs. Now they are up 5-2 with one out.

Unless the Phils have another huge inning in the next couple of sides, we are well on the way to 66 losses. DeFratus is throwing a weak slider and sinker and today he sucks.

That was stupid with Dom Brown trying to come all the way from second with that throw from Center field.

After two strike-outs, Retardo walks den Dekker. Again, this is going to come back to bite us.

Rollins has been ofer today but these guys have the look of not really playing all that hard.

No sooner I go eat something, the Phillies get a walk and Utley hits a HR which is then taken away and we score a run. The Mets win eventually and take the series. I sense a pattern here. On we go to play the Angels in Anaheim with are new fabulous pitcher (another Boobens garbage find) tomorrow with 53 wins and 66 losses.

It keep getting harder to watch the Phillies. Losing 3 of 4 to the Mets was obscene even though not entirely surprising. I'm still hoping they can somehow finish, ahhh, above the basement level.

It doesn't seem like .229 Brown will ever get hot with his .167 August (time to be dumped!). Couple that with August bashing by Rollins' at .178, Howard's blistering .190 from July's .165, and Asche's .235 (gets a pass for now), and the Phils really suck in the clutch. Revere, Utley, and Byrd have been mostly consistent all season.

The .445 Phils are very well prepared for the .581 Angels in LA tonight especially with old man .671 Williams throwing tonight and after the team's long plane ride. Our only hope is that LA's old man CJ Wilson sucks tonight, too.

Man jvett, when you see the numbers it really becomes depressing. And you are correct. It is getting increasingly more difficult to watch this train wreck. We will get to 70 losses before we reach 60 wins, if this garbage continues. There is no indication right now that much is going to change. I'll hang in as long as I can but I am not hopeful at this point.

jvett, you got what you wanted...not to trade the core players. And now you're bailing on them? After the NLDS of 2011, it was evident that changes had to happen in order to keep the team competitive...you've been completely against it...including this season.

Not bailing on anyone. Just stating the facts. Part of the core has been acceptable. They can't do it alone with no one to pick up the slack, guys like Brown who disappointed and Asche who going to be good but not fully ready for prime time. Just think how many more games the Phils would have won if Brown was hitting .270/22 homers or so, now as many of us anticipated. If Asche had a Puig like arrival. If, if. Still, I'm glad they tried it.

Hind sight's always the best sight. Howard was 2 for 19 in that NLDS but who's to know he'd decline so rapidly in the regular season. There's no way we could have dumped him. He just hit 33 HRs and was healthy. The only thing they can do now is look at the bumps and holes, evaluate the talent that's available, and make some moves/trades.
