judging dmen is really hard.. they can have atrocious numbers because of a bad partner, or a dreadful goalie, or even forwards that dont backcheck.. IMO the pens big problem in that series was fleury, and the flyers big problem was the forwards paid 0 attention to defense other than couturier and talbot

This is very true - Yes, we like to rip on JayBo, but he does chew up 25-30 minutes a night and his partner most nights was Chris Butler (not exactly a stellar NHL defenseman). The funny thing is if the NHL ever went to international ice dimensions, JayBo would really flourish in my opinion (he looked pretty good for Canada at the World Hockey Championships three months ago).

Not only that, but several arenas would require renovations (re-structuring) to adjust to 200x100 (i.e. it won't happen). It would likely cut down on blocked shots, though.

i dno why the owners should be concerned about that, they can just take 10% more of HRR from the players and ask them to play 10 more games/season

From what I've read on various sites I expect the Ducks to win the case. If they don't there's talk the Isles could work something out with Visnovsky. If Vis wins the Isles get their 2nd round pick back. The PR has been bad, but that's nothing new for the Isles. Wang doesn't give a shit about what anybody thinks. He only cares about how much money he can save while reaching the cap floor. It's a win, win situation for the Islanders in Wang's book.
