Yup! It's that time!

TKO's picks - Week One

Fuzzy crosbys tlance (don't see all three Saints producing big for T)
Milk mcmanuses Joe (Luck and Allen milk the lead)
Face boswells Ram (welcome to the Keepers, Face!)
SP vinatieries Chef (welcome to the Keepers, SP!)
Lefty walshes Treff (tough opener for Treff)
TKO hopkinses Bandit (easy Breesie)

Let's get it on boys! Kickers are people too!

I went back in the previous 3 seasons of the KOTF and @TREFF has beaten me on opening day all 3 years.
There should be an investigation as to how I ended up drawing the Treffer card in week 1?
Either this is good sign that I have a new opponent. Or Milky will just continue the trend that Treff started.

@TKOSpikes love the kicker references.
So I'm going old school kicker in my picks.

Joe Stoyanovich's Milk (the losing on opening day streak ends. C'mon, Miilk has 3 guys "Questionable")
tlance Stenerud's Fuzzies (Fuzzies has some tough matchups)
Lefty Dempsey's Treff (Don't much like Treff's matchups either)
TKO Benirschke's Bandit (this might be the game of the week)
Steelers Igwebuikke's Chef (sorry, have no quip here)
Ram Gramatica's Face (this is my upset special)

Week 1 picks

TKO over Bandit (because I just never get off to good starts)
Tlance over Fuzzy (because he's Tlance)
Lefty over Treff (Treff's running back situation is brutal)
Joe over Milk (although Milk had the best fantasy defense in history last year)
Chef over Steelers (Chef shows the B league champion the ropes of the A league)
Face over Ram (good game but Face's team looks tough)

Sorry about not doing draft grades this year guys, but our draft was a little later this year and since then I have had 6 other drafts along with having a 3 year old and a 1 and a half year old and I just don't have near as much time during the day now that I'm working from home. I did look at all the rosters though and these are my playoff predictions. I will try and get to the B league tomorrow.

Keepers of the Flame Playoff Predictions

Athos division winner (division of death) - Lefty

He always drafts well and his team might be the best top to bottom as he is one of two teams that has a top tier QB (Russell Wilson), two top RB's (Gurley and Forte), two top WR's (Keenan Allen and Brandon Marshall), and a top TE (Travis Kelce). I also like all of the options he has at the flex with Ryan Mathews, Golden Tate, Willie Snead, and James White.

Best Pick - Travis Kelce in the 8th round (pick 93), how the hell did he fall that far?

Grade - B+

Record - 9-5 (#2 seed)

Aramis division winner - Ram

Ram is the other guy that actually has a good QB (Carson Palmer), two top RB's (Lamar Miller, Latavius Murray), two top WR's (Jordy Nelson and T.Y. Hilton), and a top TE (Gary Barnidge). Plus I love Eric Decker as a flex. Derrick Henry and Josh Gordon could prove to be steals and they aren't even in his starting lineup.

Best Pick - Carson Palmer in the 8th round at pick #88 and Gary Barnidge in the 9th at pick #105 are a tie.

Grade - A-

Record - 9-5 (#1 seed)

Porthos division winner - Bandit

I have to pick myself right. Even though I have the worst luck in this league with my schedule maker, I feel like this is the year that I'm going to finish like 7th in breakdown but win the division as the fantasy football Gods even out the scales. I have a really good starting lineup, but no depth whatsoever except at tight end, where it seemed everybody waited this year so I nabbed both Olsen and Delanie Walker. By going quarterback, then tight end in rounds 4 and 5, I missed out on depth at running back and that will probably end up being my downfall, but hey, I have to believe in my team right.

Best pick - Delanie Walker in the 8th round at pick #89. He was so far ahead of everybody else on my list i couldn't pass on him there even with having Olsen.

Grade - B-

Record - 8-6 (#3 seed)

Wild Card winner - Tlance

He's Tlance. So even though I can't believe that his only quarterback is Jameis Winston, he will find a way to make it to the playoffs. Yes Ezekiel Elliott was a stretch at #1, but he surely wouldn't have come back to him at #24. so of he's convinced he's going to be that good, why not take him there. My only question would be that if that was the pick he wanted to make, why not slide back a little bit in draft order instead of staying at #1, but he might not have known that was the route he was going at the time we picked the draft order. Although, since Mark Ingram fell to him at #24 it worked out anyway. Love the Brandin Cooks pick. Love the Phillip Dorsett pick (one of my Canes in for a big year). And I think he might have gotten the steal of the draft in Kelvin Benjamin at #73 in the 7th round. I'm just not a big fan of Winston or the Eagles D, but let's face it, it will all work out in the end.

Best pick - Kelvin Benjamin in the 7th round at #73, how the hell did we let that happen?

Grade - A+++++++++++++++

Record - 8-6 (#4 seed) wins the tiebreaker over Face whose team I also like.

Playoffs:

Ram v. Tlance

Tlance prevails 137-134 in the game of the year. Tampa Bay plays Dallas in week 15, so Tlance benefits from Elliott and Winston combining to score 82 points since neither team has a freaking defense which is just enough to overcome the 41 points Carson Palmer puts up against the Saints and the 26 Lamar Miller scores on Jacksonville when Kelvin Benjamin scores a late touchdown on Monday night.

Lefty v. Bandit

Lefty destroys Bandit 140-89 because I can't ever beat him in this league. Even though I have much better matchups as Russell Wilson plays St. Louis which means Todd Gurley plays Seattle and I have Aaron Rodgers against the Bears and Davonte Freeman against the 49ers. It won't matter because Eddie Lacy will have 5 rushing touchdowns and they will pull Rodgers in the 3rd quarter and Davonte Freeman will get hurt on the 1st play from scrimmage and Tevin Coleman will have 200 yards and 3 touchdowns on my bench.

Super Bowl:

Tlance v. Lefty

Tlance wins as his #1 pick Ezekiel Elliott goes off for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns in the Monday night game against the Lions putting him over the top 124-121. This is Tlance's 4th straight A league championship proving that in back-to-back years he can pick 12th, then he can pick 1st and it doesn't matter either way.

A while back I mentioned that Bandit and I were in pay leagues on RTSports and some of you wanted an opinion of the site. Well, it is different. Compared to the bells and whistles available on the more popular sites (CBS, Yahoo, Fantrax, ESPN) it is the 49ers vs Cardinals. Pretty lacking. Free agents are either listed by 2015 stats or if you go to 2016 they are alphabetical which is a bit cumbersome when scanning to finding who is available. They do have a search feature if you know who you are looking for specifically, which helps. Maneuvering is easy enough but the terminology is a bit confusing to me. For example; the 'waiver wire' button only shows transactions, actual free agents are listed as 'top players' - and again they are list as noted before.
They do have some different 'games' such as the draft 20 (no add/drop or trade - suicide clone) and let the computer tally your best score for starting positions.
In the end, for you that have the options of the more popular sites, I'd say stick with them unless you wish to get involved with the more unique options.

Allllllllllrighty then!

Tlance over Fuzzy - EE visits the Giants' head shop, finds nothing there
Lefty over Treff - Against the Denver D, Cam from Carolina plays more like Cam from 'Modern Family'
Milk over Joe - Chip can't Hyde from Rams front four, but ODB reads from The Book of Eli
TKO over Bandit - Squeaker of the Week; Ware's Jamaal? This week, KC doesn't care
Face over Ram - Big Ben + Brown = Bonkers; Sammy decides to play
Chef over Steelers - Homer pick; Boyz only chance is the X-Factor/craziness of Week 1

Sent an offer, but I doubt you will accept it... just the best I can do for pre-season trade...

We were thinking somewhat along the same lines as I was making you an offer at the same time..But the main piece you offered is a guy I crossed off the list before the end of last season

Milk over Joe- I am milk
Fuzzy over Tlance- this is a close one... But I just don't like Tlance's WRs this week... Its what I do...
Lefty over Treff- Treff's RBs are not too strong yet...
TKO over Bandit- Beware the Ware
Chef over steelers- I am just not a matt ryan fan...
Ram over Face- I love face's team, think it would be the best team in the league if he can just get a better 2nd RB, but until then I will likely pick against him every week...
