Well, a game against Duff of Disappearance and a good game from Lynch tonight and next weeks games could be very interesting. Of course, you play Duff of Disappearance next week so I would have to have a monster next week.........................at least it should be interesting. Sucks that Bell got hurt..with that said I imagine with the 108 I scored this week + Lynch tonight=A league next year. Yippee!

It will certainly be closer than I thought it would.

I am very glad that I did not play your team this week! If so, you would be playoff bound for sure.

Brutal!

Sorry boys, I was travelling Sunday and didn't realize Julius was out! Also left SJax on the bench for a shot in the dark with Goodwin who puts up 0. Solid work by me trying to sneak in the playoffs! Also, put my faith in Luck and he didn't pan out.

...and Treff, missing out on Decker's 40?! ouch...

Yeah a little. . At least I didn't hurt the rest of you with that Boner of the year

Wouldn't you know I go 5-1 this week...only loss against Treff who sits Mr. 40+ Decker.

Thanks to TKO and Fuzzy for pointing out my nutshot of the year. Was hoping that being proactive and outing myself might head that off ;)
Sorry Fuzz, overall my teams, all my teams, suck this year, but I do seem to get lucky at the right times.

Will - nothing pressing, but I would like to get an update on the overall standings since I am a bottom dweller - wasn't sure what the tie breaker is between Ram, Duff, and myself, all 5-8. If it's points for, I may be able to escape relegation as the 3rd worst team, if it is something else, I apologize for my ignorance

Wil, not that you don't have enough going on with all of this. But after next week, once the playoff teams are finalized, is there any way you could post the rosters for each of the playoff teams? I think it would be very interesting to compare the playoff teams from the B league and the A league to see what players are in common to the playoff teams. Also, I think it would be neat since we can only see the roster's for our own league.

Relegation is determined by power rankings. (Over the regular season, so it's decided this week.)

By the way, the Barbarians made a 50-point dent last week. If they make up 76 more this week, FOUR teams will move instead of two.

Right now the power rankings looks like this:

Duff: 5 - possible range 3.5-8
W/L: 3 (5-8, one game ahead of one team, tied with two others, one game behind two more; possible range 1.5-5)
Breakdown: 1 (lowest at 40-103; can catch Monkey by picking up 9 games; possible range 1-2)
PF: 1 (lowest at 1006; can't catch anyone)

Monkey: 7 - possible range 4.5-14
W/L: 3 (5-8, one game ahead of one team, tied with two others, one game behind two more; possible range 1.5-5)
Breakdown: 2 (second lowest at 40-103; can catch Ram by picking up 5.5 games and can be caught by Duff by giving up 9 games; possible range 1-3)
PF: 2 (second lowest at 1117; have to make up 51 to catch Scape, 53 to catch Ram, 75 to catch Joe, 94 to catch Treff; can't be caught by anyone; possible range 2-6)

Ram: 10 - possible range 5.5-17
W/L: 3 (5-8, one game ahead of one team, tied with two others, one game behind two more; possible range 1.5-5)
Breakdown: 3 (third lowest at 53-87-3; can catch Scape by picking up 6 games and Joe by picking up 8.5; can be caught by Monkey by giving up 5.5 games; possible range 2-5)
PF: 4 (fourth lowest at 1170; have to make up 41 to catch Treff, 71 to catch Sam, 84 to catch Fuzzies; can be caught by Scape by giving up 2 points and Monkey by giving up 53; possible range 2-7)

Joe: 11 - possible range 7-17
W/L: 1 (lowest at 4-9, one game behind two teams; possible range 1-2)
Breakdown: 5 (fifth lowest at 62-79-2; can't catch anyone else; can be caught by Scape by giving up 2.5 games; possible range 4-5)
PF: 5 (fifth lowest at 1192; have to make up 19 to catch Treff, 49 to catch Sam, 62 to catch Fuzzies, 91 to catch TKO, 100 to catch Tlance; can be caught by Ram by giving up 22 points, by Scape by giving up 24, and by Monkey by giving up 75; possible range 2-10)

Scapegoat: 12.5 - possible range 7.5-18.5
W/L: 5.5 (6-7, one game ahead of three teams, tied with one, one game behind three others; possible range 2.5-6.5)
Breakdown: 4 (fourth lowest at 60-82-1; can catch Joe by picking up 2.5 games; can be caught by Ram by giving up 6 games; possible range 3-5)
PF: 3 (third lowest at 1168; have to make up 2 to catch Ram, 43 to catch Treff, 73 to catch Sam, 86 to catch Fuzzies; can be caught by Monkey by giving up 51; possible range 2-7)

Fuzzies: 21 - possible range 11.5-27.5
W/L: 5.5 (6-7, one game ahead of three teams, tied with one, one game behind three others; possible range 2.5-7.5)
Breakdown: 7.5 (tied for seventh-lowest at 78-64-1; can pass Treff by outscoring him, can catch Tlance and/or Sam by picking up 1.5 games; can be passed by Treff by being outscored by him, can be caught by TKO by giving up 1.5 games; possible range 6-10)
PF: 8 (eighth lowest at 1254; have to make up 29 to catch TKO, 38 to catch Tlance; can be caught by Sam by giving up 13, Treff by giving up 43, Joe by giving up 62, Ram by giving up 84, and Scape by giving up 86; possible range 3-10)

Sam: 24.5 - possible range 15-29.5 (only threatened by four-team relegation)
W/L: 8 (7-6, one game ahead of two teams, tied with two, one game behind one; possible range 6-9.5)
Breakdown: 9.5 (tied for ninth-lowest at 80-63; can pass Tlance by outscoring him but can't catch anyone; can be passed by Tlance by being outscored by him, can be caught by Treff and/or Fuzzies by giving up 1.5 games and by TKO by giving up 3; possible range 6-10)
PF: 7 (seventh lowest at 1241; have to make up 13 to catch Fuzzies, 42 to catch TKO, 51 to catch Tlance; can be caught by Treff by giving up 31, by Joe by giving up 49, Ram by giving up 71, Scape by giving up 73; possible range 3-10)

The low end of everybody else's breakdown range is 17 or higher, so they're safe.

Does anyone know what page in this thread(if any) that explains how the breakdown stats go? Just trying to figure out if I even have a chance to steal the top spot from Bandits?

Well Thank goodness Will believes the ESPN projections are bunk...I still doubt I've got a shot, but as long as I don't leave 40 on the bench again, anything can happen.
Good luck to ya Will, and everyone else too, whether it's the playoff hopefuls or trying to stave off regulation.

I don't know about everybody else, but I seriously find myself checking this damn page like every 30 minutes to see if Wil has posted the update yet. I don't know if that means I'm excited about it or just have way too much time on my hands.

Week 13 Report

Mr. Corleone Has a Request

DeNiro_GodfatherPartII_540x405.jpg

15sl4.jpg

Lefty and Son both blasted their way into the playoffs with a vengeance, with Lefty annihilating Ram 176-104 and Bandit blowing past Chef (despite Chef's season high), 138-122. (Not sure why Chef is eating in the picture; one would assume he would have been in the kitchen.)

Lefty now has a stranglehold on the 2013 A League Points Title, is virtually assured of the Breakdown Title as well, and has a chance to also claim the Top Seed to be the first MBBRL A League Triple Crown winner.

Bandit has nearly nailed down the all-important breakdown title (as a refresher, this is your record against all eleven other teams each week, and this title is a golden ticket to the A League). With a 10-1 week (only outscored by Barilko), Bandit cracked the century mark to reach 103-40 (exactly the same as his father, coincidentally). Microwahevo almost kept pace, posting an 8-3 record for the week to reach 97-45-1.

Micro has to pick up 6 games on Bandit to steal the breakdown title, so if Bandit is 6-5 or better this week he'll be out of reach. If, say, Bandit is 3-8 and Micro 9-2, Micro would be the breakdown champ.

Barbarians At The Gate at the gate

The Barbarians made up 51 points last week to close within 74 of the Keepers of the Flame. If they pull off a 75-point upset, it won't be two teams moving, it will be FOUR.

In that case teams moving up would be: 1) the B League Champ, 2) the Breakdown winner, 3) the top seed (Micro), and 4) the Points winner (Bandit has a 63- and 68-point advantage over Micro and JDM respectively). If any of those overlap, the next-best team in Power Rankings gets in.

Teams moving down are the two (or four) lowest in Power Rankings (see earlier post).

Seahawk Supremacy

HaroldSeattle went with four Seahawks and topped TK 108-75 to finally salt away the Ostrogoths division title. Sox had beaten MilkSpiller to set up a potential winner-take-all matchup in Week 14, but HaroldSeattle's victory makes it moot.

Tough Battles Among the Huns

Microwahevo secured the top seed by squeaking past JDM 111-110, one week after clinching a playoff spot by squeaking past Foot 97-96. Nothing comes easy with these Huns.

Meanwhile Barilko threw down a league-high to finally knock Foot out of the running, 145-92.

The last B League playoff spot, the Wild Card, is now down to Barilko and JDM. Barilko takes it with a win or tie, or a JDM loss or tie. If JDM beats Foot while Barilko loses to Micro, JDM is in.

Final A League Playoff Spots

wilwhite joined Lefty in the playoffs with a 98-75 victory over Joe. Treff put himself in a very strong position with a 109-94 win over Fuzzies - notable because it also knocked Fuzzies out of playoff contention, the first year that Fuzzies will have missed the playoffs.

If Treff beats wilwhite this week, he'll take the division title and wilwhite will be the wild card. If Treff loses, TKO can steal the wild card spot from Treff by beating Lefty (no small task) since he holds the H2H tiebreaker over Treff.

If Treff loses and TKO beats Lefty, Sam has a chance at the wild card with a win by forcing a three-way tie at 8-6 (earlier TKO beat Treff, Treff beat Sam and Sam beat TKO), but he'd have to pick up 42 points on TKO to take the PF tie-breaker.

Sam can also take the Porthos division title by winning while Tlance loses, or having the same result as Tlance while making up 51 points on him. With a win and a decent score, Tlance takes it.

Ram, Duff, Joe and Scape are fighting to avoid relegation (well, Duff isn't exactly fighting). Fuzzies is only playing for pride and to avoid a losing season.

Great job as usual Wil. Here's hoping my team can hold it together for one more week to hold on to the breakdown title, although I also would love to catch Dad in points also. It's funny, we have both had the points and breakdown lead pretty much all year in our respective divisions, but we only have two players in common on our teams: Josh Gordon and Jordy Nelson.

Bandit - Let's just hope Gordon doesn't have to learn yet another QB and Rodgers comes back to rescue Jordy during the playoff run.
