Isn't this what Hammer did in the other thread and you jumped down his throat for it?

Tz, you gotta leave the lawyer at the login screen sometimes. We are just fans discussing the issues here. You do not need to go for the death penalty every time.

I understand, but as for hammer, I provided the link for him to get up to speed and he refused, instead taunting me as a "typical Giant's fan."

Anyone here would I agree I'm FAR from "typical"

I'm calling it the 2010 World Series syndrome. There hasn't been torture around these parts lately and he was itching to get his fix with the game on the line and Rodgers with the ball to validate the defense. Too bad for him the 49ers said "fuck you" to that and scored 45 on them. :brick:

You will pay for this, EV...oh, yes, you will pay. :nono: :kev:

I don't need you to "change your mind," just to be logically consistent. I can agree to disagree with a logically reasoned stance, but not a "you're ignoring the evidence" taunt.

If people around you don't hate you a little bit, you're not doing your job as a fan I always say...:suds:

I gotta say, tz, by that criteria, you have put up a HOF career as a fan, then, I guess ;)

:boink:

They haven't put three good games together so far this year, I don't see them suddenly finding that rhythm. Let's hope I'm wrong.

The team hasn't but the defense has.

The Vikes, Giants, and @Seattle were games where I think the D really sh*t the bed. There have been bad stretches in others but those three stick out as ones where we can point the loss on the defense.

The offense is evolving and they don't need to rely on the defense to keep them under 10 points to win anymore.

Here's where I get frustrated:

Your statement: there is a lot of evidence the D played well and you're ignoring it
My contention: no, there isn't a LOT of evidence
Your retorr: well, there's some...so you're ignoring it.

basic logic. Some does not equal lots. That I disagree with you doesn't mean I ignored any evidence. I simply factored in that evidence (paucity of it that there was) and concluded that the D didn't play very well.

Section 31, 45 yard line. about 7 rows behind the visitor's bench

Sweet seats. My friend has a pair two sections over in 35, about 11 rows up. I was able to get to go to the Seahawks and bears' games.

That's a good view to see plays develop. The one major deterrent is that camera guy that sits on the platform that slides up and down the sidelines.

While most of us feel tz is beeing too critical of the Niners, I do believe there are legit reasons to be concerned. Lets not ALL get so entrenched in the arguments that we forget to actually look at the team and make serious complaints.

Personally, I have 2 pretty major concerns for the team...

1) Justin Smith - If he were healthy, I am not sure that any team could compete with us this year. He eats the OL and allows Aldon the path to eat the QB. Without him in there, Alson gets relatively neutralized. HUGE game changer with Justin hurt.

2) WR depth. I saw Ginn lining up at WR WAY too often against GB. If Ginn is one of your primary receivers, you know you are having problems. Sure, Crab is stepping up into the elites of the NFL and Moss is a passable #2, but Jenkins is still MIA and Kaep seems to have not gotten the memo that he has an all-world TE to throw to.

Add to this the obvious PK issues and there are some serious questions facing this team.

from all accounts, Justin Smith appears to come out of the game no worse. He more than held his own in the pack game, getting good push on that braced elbow, even made a arm tackle with it.

The receiving options are a huge concern, IMO. When Crabs was neutralized (slipped or was covered) that lead to some 49er mistakes and dropped passes.
As a few on the niner board have stated, I want to LMJames in space as a receiver.
There were more looks to Vernon and the big grab he made he actually didn't jump catch it lol.
More VD and James to ease the pressure on Crabs.

Crowd noise and composure are my bigger once runs, though. Can't let them force the niners into making dumb mistakes, which they are doing at a rate higher than last year.

The Pats game too. You never know which D is going to show up.

Despite Justin being in there, Aldon was a non-factor.

Again.

Dude is hurt.

Justin smith effect.

They really locked down Brady at full strength.

Just to further rag on the Niners and some concerns to come out of the Packers game...

Crab - 9 rec
Gore, Moss - 2 rec
Davis, Walker, James, Ginn - 1 rec

That is concerning. If Crab has a bad game, is the offense falling on its face?

Not if Kaep runs for another 200 yards. :D

Which is certainly possible. Vick, Newton, RGIII all had good games against Atlanta.

Nope. Nolan will do one thing above all others: take away the run on the read option. Of course, that will open up the middle of the defense for Gore to gash them into submission. Expect a big day from the RBs.

You just see the Niners through rose colored glasses. You are never able to see any of their faults...

I think the read option play action opens up the deep pass. It's a wrinkle that only occasionally's been used and only more like a method to stretch the defense.

If the line holds up (which I think they could with a hobbled John Abraham) then, Kaep could have time to go over the top. It wouldn't surprise me if they try at least two bombs in the dome.

They might keep Weatherspoon or another LB to spy on Kaep..I'm hoping VD can take exploit the seam if the LB's stick to the line.

Interesting thread. Since I don't live in SF (or CA for that matter) I don't have any loyality or emotional investment in the Niners. So my take on what I see is somewhat differnt than most of you. It's actuallly a mix. I think that for the Niners sake Rodgers had an average game (by statistics). I can't say it was the SF defense that held him in check or if it was Rodgers having an 'off' day. In the end it yielded the same result. An SF win. I do see where some of you think Tzill is a quite critical of the Niner defense. I also see and understand his position. I think I look at Timmy the same way he looks at the Niners. Probably because I have an emotional investment in the Giants therefore in Timmy. For the past two years I never knew which Timmy would take the mound. I always hoped for the 5 hit, 1ER, 11K Timmy. That's the Timmy I wanted. Seems like I didn't get my wish on many occasions. Saw quite a bit of the 4-5 innings, 6hit, 4-5 runs Timmy. In our 2012 WS run I was very pleased with Timmy coming out of the pen. Not so sure how comfortable I would be if he was making scheduled starts.
