8 games is not a fair shake, but even if you did base it on what he did in 8 games, he still did just as well as Sammy ever did, if not better, and as you said against some pretty tough defenses!
Argue all you want Cougie, Davis, better winning percentage, better completion percentage, better TD percentage, better QB rating, better scrambling ability,
So, based on that, why wasn't he given more of a chance, after all Sammy got 5 years to prove he couldn't get it done!

Yeah I wonder why we didn't trade Davis to Philly instead of Sam? The Eagles could have had Davis for nothing? Hmm. Well let's see If Davis makes it 5 years as a starter before we jump the gun.

If the Ravens secondary could catch, he also would've thrown the clinching pick before they had a chance at the late FG.

We can sit here and say "if" all day long. Davis threw a touchdown pass that tied the game.

I agree.

But I do believe that although he may not have saved the season, our record would be better than it currently is with him at QB. We lost some very winnable games because the offense couldn't move the ball.

And for all the chances and mistakes Davis made ( including the pick 6's ), at least the offense wasn't stagnant like it is this season with Foles and Keenum.

2014: Davis: 8 games started 164/261 1809 yards 62.8% 12 TD 8 INT and a 3-5 record.

2015: Foles first 8 games started 128/220 1478 yards 58.1% 7 TD 5 INT 4-5 record

Foles even has the better team yet the lack of a passing game is killing the Rams offense. Foles on the season is 175/302 1906 yards 57.9% 7 TD 9 INT... Something needs to be done with the passing game. Davis' play wasn't the best but it was a helluva lot better than Foles. It was his first shot and so many were already calling him out and so many were praising the Rams for signing Foles. While he isn't the main problem, he has been throwing ducks all season. The Rams still need some big threats at WR.

Sure. He looked solid for the most part, but we're talking about an awful game that isn't exactly the best barometer. He's been named the starter for this weekend, which is a fairer test (gets all the first team reps) and some real competition in the Bengals.

Actually that pass was after Cleveland tied it up, so that would not have clinched anything! I'm sure Davis hasn't had much, if any time with the starting WR's., for the most part his passes were on the money!

Let's face it, he looked good, he looked real good, 7-10 with a perfectly thrown TD pass, and all this was with the game on the line, not like when Sammy would get his junk time stats!

Not clinched really, but would've given the Ravens the ball back on the Browns side of the field, needing only a FG.

The only reason Sammie lasted as long as he did,is the team had to much invested in him, it wasn't because e wowed anyone with his great play!

Davis is starting for the Browns this week.

WHAT? Why would any team start a guy "ahead" of another guy that is better than him? Doesn't Johnny Football give them a better chance if winning? Hello, Coug, Hello?

I actually think Davis is getting the start because they don't want to throw Johnny to the wolves, Cinn defense is pretty damn good!

Cleveland is doing what the Rams did last year! Davis should have played out the year to see what he could do, playing Hill was pointless! I'm saying it right here Coug, Manziel should be starting ahead of Davis, he should be playing out the year to see if he is the answer or not?

These coaches are clueless, "if" you think Manziel " might" be your future he should be playing now!

I think they're still punishing Manziel as well.

Yeah, we will see how he performs. The Bengals will be a good test.

Foles + 2nd rounder > Bradford
Davis > Keenum
Hundley > Mannion

Crucial decisions at QB is why we are in this position. I'll take Foles and the pick while
Losing Bradfords contract.

The problem I have is letting Davis walk and yes keeping guys like Cook on the roster.

If Jeff Fisher wants to wonder why this offense and now the entire team
Is shit, he needs to look in the mirror.

That's not 100% correct. We traded Bradford + a 2015 5th round pick to the Eagles in exchange for Foles, a 2015 4th rounder and a 2016 2nd rounder.(see link) We already used this 2015 4th rounder to select Andrew Donnal.

so really we got Foles+Donnal+2016 2nd rd pick in exchange for Bradford+2015 5th rd pick

Rams trading Sam Bradford to Eagles for Nick Foles

still.. your argument is valid. We still need a qb and I'm not sure if Donnal will amount to anything. Plus we still have a number 2 pick

Nope, I am with SJ76. With better coaching and an offense worth playing for apparently, Foles would still be a QB that can get it done. I believe he has been Bulgerized with the Rams "way". If Fisher would have stated privately and publicaly that he is sticking with Foles in the manner that Vermeil did with Jaworski in Philadelphia and Warner in St Louis and then surrounded Foles with the offense, OC, and players to get it done, I guarantee you, Foles would be a way better QB and this offense would be on its way.

Throwing Foles under the bus by telling the public that "Foles needs a break" as an excuse to bench him with a useless back-up QB while not doing all the things previously mentioned of which he promised he'd do in the past, is bush league at best. I think the players see right through this bullshit and have decided to tank the season. Only time will tell.

The problem is... can Foles can play? Hes only playing now because Keenum has a concussion. So it's really like we traded Bradford for a 2nd rd pick. Hopefully Foles shows something this week because Keenum is still seeing stars.

You could say the same thing about Sam Retro. He just took the abuse for the last 6 years and if you think of it in those terms he didn't do to bad compared to Foles. I don't know I think Fisher had to pull him... He was a complete mess and the team sees that too!! And sometimes pulling a guy will "Wake" him up. hopefully this weekend.

Behind our makeshift o-line and with these Titan "has been" receivers, no one stands a chance at qb! Hell you put Johnny Unitas behind center and he would get his ass handed to him! Foles has shown that he can play if given a surrounding cast. Sam Bradford hasn't!

That's funny....you always conveniently tend to forget about the boat load of $$$ that we wasted on SAMMY! Nothing was wasted on Foles. Hell we got rid of an expensive dud that crippled our team for 5 years! In return we got Foles, plus 2 bonus draft picks! How stupid could Chip Kelly be?? ......ADVANTAGE RAMS!

I just find it funny you guys are ok with the excuses for Foles or any other QB BUT Sam had the same but worse teams by far as talent goes but you were so happy to see him leave.

He had nothing to do with what the first overall pick was paid. And we owe Foles 14 million guaranteed. I wouldnt call that nothing. How stupid is Chip?? We have a $14 million back up quarterback.
