If the Ravens secondary could catch, he also would've thrown the clinching pick before they had a chance at the late FG.

Actually that pass was after Cleveland tied it up, so that would not have clinched anything! I'm sure Davis hasn't had much, if any time with the starting WR's., for the most part his passes were on the money!

Let's face it, he looked good, he looked real good, 7-10 with a perfectly thrown TD pass, and all this was with the game on the line, not like when Sammy would get his junk time stats!

Coug, try to get this through your head, right now, Davis is a backup, there are you happy, I sure wish he was still "our" backup QB, give the guy his credit, he's a better backup QB than Sammie ever was a starting QB! Now go ahead and argue that all you want with some lame ass comment!

Does it matter which fan we piss in, I have an idea which fan on this site I'd like to piss in!

Davis is a better back up then Sam is a starter?? You know that doesn't compute right. Sam being a STARTER for the last 6 years pretty much makes him better then a back up QB. At least to me and people in the NFL. Just not you. :noidea:

So you're saying they picked up Davis to be the 3rd string QB but he is really better then the other two guys but they won't play him because he is like an insurance policy or they don't want to look bad? :nono: No Smed it's because he is a back up QB in this league. Not a guy you want to start the season with like Sam.

gotta disagree with you on this one Coug.

Warner was 3rd string behind Tony Banks and Steve Bono in 1998. you can't tell me Banks and Bono were better than Warner even then because it's not like he got a ton of playing time from then to 99 preseason when he took over for Green when he got hurt. he was the same player in 98 that he showed everyone in 99.

sometimes, coaches just don't know what they have, or they refuse to find out by playing them for whatever reason ( and yes, alot of times it is because of money or draft pick status ). Or, in the case with Fisher and Martz, if he's not their guy, they kick them to the curb.

Yeah but Davis has had plenty of starts and I haven't seen any Warner like ablity lol. Look I agree if Davis was on the team right now he would be the best option. But I don't think he's as good as Sam.

What? Are you trying to say some QB's like Bradford, RGIII, David Carr, J. russel, Akili Smith, J. Harrington, Tim Couch, and I could go on, aren't just handed the starting job because of where they were drafted and the teams desperation? You mean that there might be guys like Warner or Favre that are sitting behind them that aren't as good as these guys that were just named starters because of their draft position or money they had invested in them?

Get out, that's crazy talk!

Well of course you don't because Sam has proved that he is a winner, and Sam has a better completion percentage than that hack Davis, and a better winning percentage, and a better QB rAting, and has proven to be more reliable,

Oh wait, none of that is true!

I'm glad we can agree on something Coug:pound:

do you think Davis really got a fair shake here though? 7-8 games with half coming against the tough NFCW defenses is not a fair assessment in my opinion. and it's not like Fisher was reinserting a healthy Bradford. he put in Shaun "over the" Hill for crying out loud.

Davis should've been allowed to finish the season to see if he progressed. half a season is not a fair assessment. sometimes QB's take longer to "get it".

look at what Fitzpatrick has done this season. he's looked pretty solid and he's been in the NFL how long? can't judge Davis on half a season is all I'm saying.

8 games is not a fair shake, but even if you did base it on what he did in 8 games, he still did just as well as Sammy ever did, if not better, and as you said against some pretty tough defenses!
Argue all you want Cougie, Davis, better winning percentage, better completion percentage, better TD percentage, better QB rating, better scrambling ability,
So, based on that, why wasn't he given more of a chance, after all Sammy got 5 years to prove he couldn't get it done!
