I'm going through some of the mocks and the link I have is from Detroit Lions.com which shows several analysts final mocks. they probably didn't change after the La'el Collins debacle yesterday.

main link from Detroit Lions.com
MOCK DRAFT WATCH: Final predictions

the very top one on that list is NFL.com Daniel Jeremiah. guess who he had going to NE at #32... LT
2015 NFL Mock Drafts : Mock draft 5.0: Winston, Mariota go 1-2

Pick No. 32 Laken Tomlinson OG Duke

here's another one 2015 NFL Mock Drafts - Pete Prisco - CBSSports.com NFLDraftScout.com
NE.png

(12-4) Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke: A power player in the run game who would be an immediate starter. He was dominant at times in college and is said to be a great kid away from the field.

here's another one 2015 NFL Mock Drafts - Dane Brugler - CBSSports.com NFLDraftScout.com

(12-4) Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke: When asked to block in a square, Tomlinson can be dominant and with the needs the Patriots have on the interior offensive line, this marriage is possible.

here's another one but it's Was at #38 in 2nd round 2015 NFL Mock Drafts - Rob Rang - CBSSports.com NFLDraftScout.com
38. Washington Redskins
WAS.png

(4-12) Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke: Adding toughness and physicality along the offensive line will be a priority in Washington.

here's another one in the 2nd rd http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/04/14/2015-nfl-mock-draft-jameis-winston-
38. Washington Redskins: Laken Tomlinson, G, Duke

BB_72; seems pretty evident to me that Tomlinson was viewed as a potential late late 1st round or early 2nd round probability.

Some more info. There was some confusion as to whether Manny would be a starter or backup or a rotational guy. Reports just starting to come out.

Manuel Ramirez - C - Lions
The Lions did not acquire G/C Manuel Ramirez to be a starter.
After a dismal season in Denver, Ramirez was just a throw-in as part of Thursday's trade down, from which the Broncos emerged with Shane Ray, and the Lions emerged with Ramirez, Laken Tomlinson, the 143rd pick, and a 2016 fifth-rounder. Ramirez is a "swing" interior reserve, able to play both guard and center. The Lions want Travis Swanson to be their starting center.

Manny will be the new Dylan Gandy according to this. I think it might make sense to throw him in there on goal line situations too. I would imagine he could play RG as well. Big Larry has had injury issues so far.

hell, I thought the 5th round pick of Denver was their second of that round, #164, at the bottom of that round. That is what they stated last night. It's better to be picking 7th overall in that 5th round than at the bottom of same round, IMO.

Half a round or so can still be quite a difference even in the 5th I agree.

It also means we got Manny for a late 4th round pick as we gave 100 points in value and recovered almost 60 with our 2 picks. That means we paid 40ish for Manny.

If he is as smart as everyone says his first call should be to Warford to get Lecharles Bently's contact info. You can see results from that guys camp

Let me correct myself. I added wrong. We got 65-70 points worth of picks so that is 30 ish points for Manny. So he was basically a 5th rounder.

the trade down was worth 100 points
that #143 pick that we got from Den is worth 34.5 points. The future 2016 5th round draft pick, slot # undecided, is valued at half their original 2015 5th rounder which is #164 and that current value is 25.8 so next years 5th round is worth 1/2 that or 12.9 points. Mayhew got a grand total of 47.4 points in actual trade value from those two 5th round picks then you might assume Manny would be worth our 5th round pick #168 at 24.2 points if we were simply trading for him only as we had no fourth round pick due to Ngata. It's a grand total 71.6 points. He short changed himself and should have asked for Denver's other 5th round pick #164 also, IMO. Manny wouldn't be traded for a 4th round to another team, IMO only, but then again crazy garbage can happen.

Hard to say what next years pick is really worth, I am struggling always with that. If it does turn out we gave up a 4th then it was not necessarily a good trade. A fifth probably would be OK IMO.

Of course we are assuming everyone is still using that chart. I have my own chart that would calculate Manny as just an extra throw in that we got. The report I posted stated he was intended to be just a throw in so I wonder.

not what I stated....

Manny had value as a current starting NFL player.

I proved in more than 90+% of all trades that the old value chart still was spot on. not in this trade yesterday between the Lions and Broncos

My guess would be Levy, but extensions to any player may not cost us a dime this year. We might just sit on that money for a while in case of emergency.

On second thought, I would just give that money to Austin and extend him.

Lions are in a lose/lose situation w Austin. If he heads another top defense without Suh, he gets a HC job next year. If he heads a D outside out the top 10, it will prove he's just average without Suh.

All other things being equall yes. If we lose a starting CB and that happens with the D maybe not. Also if we are injury riddled at other positions with more depth it could still be looked at as something that could not be overcome by anyone.

Lions held the no.1 ranked run D all year. That's all Suh. No spinning that one.

Lions pass D ranked anywhere between 8th and 15th throughout the year.

Miami is gonna have a really good run D. They also had a top 15 pass D, like the Lions.

So I guess it's possible. Suh anchoring a no.1 run D really helps the overall rating.

IMO it would need to be HC type money or he isn't staying.

I would love to be saying " I wish Austin well in his new HC gig." by late winter.
