Wow, had no idea Favre threw for 70k. 11 of 14 that threw for 40k are in or will be in Hall. The way it looks Eli, Big Ben, Rivers, Romo, Rodgers should reach 40k. Ryan as well but he is still young. To me the only for sure HOF out of that is Rodgers and Im not sure why to be honest. He has been great only a few yrs.

Different era way different rules Steve Deberg would throw for 45k in this era. I think the Standard for both Qb's and wr's needs to go way up to be a HOF'er. 50 plus TD was a must for a wr to get in the Hall on the low side. I think that number needs to be raised to about 75 because of the way the rules now favor wr's and qb's

Yes there are . I think McNabb needed it though. I know its only 2000 more yards but - imagine his nominator being able to say he is 1 of 15 guys to throw for 40 k. 11 are or will be in there as well. You look at Kreig, Collins and Testeverde and you know there is no chance. There is a question about McNabb though. He is borderline

I believe Romo was the fastest ever to reach 30k ..so he would have to be on pace.

Correction ..the most yards in 100 games ..27K

Well I guess perception is in the eye of the beholder.
Because I always thought he was overrated!
Eli Manning has two superbowl rings & he is grossly overrated.

If Mcnabb was a more accurate passer or if the eagles has a different QB who knows they may have had multiple Championships with their defense they had.
Sure he has a nice resume I give you that. Many Qbs in the history of this sport had way worse resume & teams behind them, but were better Qbs than McNabb.

& he has only gotten worse as he entered TV land. He really has no business on TV IMO.

I love they saying if if was 1/5 then we'd all be drunk. I can counter and say if Mcnabb wasn't the QB and they still had that great defense they might have lost in the 2nd round. When Mcnabb was in his prime the 3 qb's who imo were clearly better. Brady, Manning and Warner....All HOFer's

I can agree with this, but to even call a guy Border Line means he was pretty Damn good. We acting like on this board that Mcnabb is a JAG. I like to try and look pass my personal bias and look at a dudes career alone. To me Mcnabb had an outstanding career. Is he a HOFer maybe maybe not. He might be a terd to some, but I actually enjoyed his career even as a Cowboy fan.

My opinions about the comments he has made over the years not withstanding, he did have a hell of a career. He gave the Cowboys all they could handle and then some.

RG3 better pray to all of the known Gods to have a career half as good.

:agree: But he dominated the Division.

REALLY?????? McNabb is 26 - 20 vs. the NFCE and for the most part the other teams sucked for most of the years he played. I wouldn't exactly call that domination. He was a good QB with a very good team around him with NO rings. I'm not saying the guy sucked but he's no where the QB he thinks he is. He's just fucking bitter other QB he THIS he's better than are making bank. Well too damn bad. It's not the guys playing today who are at fault. It's the system. I wonder what he thinks of the QBs from the 70 who didn't make McNabb money. Fuck him and his tears.

Guess it depends on how you look at it....again how many division crowns did he have? 5 or 6 right. I'd say that's dominate.

I don't care about his opinion about other players past or present. You play in the era you play in can't change it. I think the opinions that matter most is that of the fans.

McNabb was a star. What everyone is forgetting is early in his career when he went 9 and 1 vs. Dallas and went to 4 straight NFC Championships his O was Torrance Small, Todd Pinkston, Darnell Autry and various other scrubs. He 100% did have good Ds but he was special in that he could put a bad offense on his shoulders and win.

And the person who ripped him for beating the Giants in the playoffs and running out of bounds and picking up their red phone was wrong. That was freaking classic and hillarious.
