upgrade, or just dif't voice. hard to claim the former.
if we are looking for someone to take us over that playoff hump, San Jose might not be the ideal place to go looking. Hell, they shit the bed worse than we did this year.

so ownership releases a statement ... is there still going to be a presser ?

Working the Corners | David Pollak on the San Jose Sharks

other change still might be coming today

“The on-ice results of our team this season are not acceptable to our fans, our organization or our ownership group. We will not lower our expectation that every San Jose Sharks team we put on the ice is capable of winning the Stanley Cup. Despite the fact that our team has experienced a tremendous amount of success over the past eight seasons, we are not satisfied with those results and neither is Doug. The ownership group has confidence that Doug will make the necessary changes to ensure our club remains among the NHL’s elite franchises.”

May get a better idea of those “necessary changes” later this morning.

lateral move imo ... different voice ... supposedly, "players love to play for him" ... but ... we have to look deep into what that means lol

The assistants failed SJ more than the HC from what I understand, but the perceived problems (player effort, leadership, special teams, team chemistry) are most easily attributed to the HC if you're trying to pin the blame on the donkey.

Whether or not those things have so much to do with the HC in SJ as is perceived is a question for smarter people than I but, wherever he is on that spectrum, it would not be unexpected to see him sacked and labeled the culprit.

It's possible McLellan gets canned but from recient comments made by Wilson I'm under the impression he won't. I think it's more likely Shaw and Woodcroft are removed from behind the bench and new assistants are brought in.

Whatever the presser is for it doesn't look like it has anything to do with the coaching staff. More from Pollak:

Sometime over the next few weeks is when a decision will be made on #sjsharks coaches. Doesn't want to rush

Sounds like it's just going to be a general synopsis of the season.
