I love the idea of going to 6x6.
I think the original 5x5 categories are what makes roto the game it is. I would feel better adding new categories rather than switching out the originals.
(that's the way I'd vote anyway....but not opposed at all to any which way we go)

Que?

Fuzzy, I there is an vote upcoming on scoring changes. I will try to get something posted this weekend.

The big ones were:

BA vs. OPS or OBP
Wins vs. QS
Saves vs. Saves + Holds vs. Net Saves (saves - blown saves)

We could also go 6x6 adding a holds category and OPS instead of replacing the others.

I will clean this up and simplify before we vote, but feel free to discuss now. Am I missing anything here?

5x5
OBP
Wins- a quality start, as currently defined, is hardly quality in my book, plus takes the fun out of relievers vultures the occasional W
And without a doubt- Saves+Holds just to create the probability that a team or two isn't FORCED into punting the category altogether

If 5X5
I dont mind OBP instead of BA but prefer BA

But in 6X6
I think it would be best with BA instead of OBP, and we add Walks as a category...

What is the league rules with closers, is there a maximum of closers we can start??? If so then i would rather use Saves+Holds as the category instead of just saves...

In 6X6, the 6th pitching stat has always been a question... I have been in leagues that use Losses, and i have been in leagues that use QS... I did not like losses to start with, but then grew to like it, because it prevents 2 start pitching...
So, i dont really care what the pitching categories are...

9th is good for me too.

Foot, did you sign up yet? It's too bad we're not in the same league...I bet we'd come up with some wild trades.

I am not a huge fan of the negative pitching categories. ERA and WHIP already sufficiently punish teams who stream just anybody.

As for the reliever thing, we set line-ups weekly. There are 4 SP slots, 2 RP slots and 2 P slots. There is no innings maximum, but if you fail to hit 32 IP in the week you automatically lose all pitching cats. That way, the more RPs you start, the more likely you are to miss the innings minimum.

The 9th is fine with me, any time at all is good.

At this point I don't care about the scoring categories. Original 5x5 is fine. But my thoughts anyway: Subbing OBP for BA is fine, but having BA and OBP feels slightly redundant, so if we go 6x6 I'd prefer OPS. Adding Holds as its own category isn't my preference -- it's SV+HD or stick with what it is, in my mind.

Do we have a set time for the 9th?

I think we're waiting for everything to be finalized.

Tlance and Rev: I know you guys need some more busy work, so here's a question: have you given any thought to names for the leagues a la the football leagues?

Sorry to keep it mixed up, but...

I would vote to go 6x6 and add OPS and QS. (but as many of you know, I will go with the flow and the majority)

Thanks tiance,

With that setup I would rather use just saves without holds. If we use holds then the value of a top closer diminishes greatly. With this setup you can use up to 4 closers if needed.

As for OPS. I would vote strongly against using that stat. We already have 2 categories that favor power hitters having another one just makes the other aspects of the game pointless.

I have an interesting idea. Hope I haven't annoyed anyone yet.

We do 6X6 without any ratio stats

Offense- hits,walks,hrs,RBI, runs, sb

Pitching- innings, saves, wins, bb+hits, strikeouts, Earned runs
