Well here goes :)

Tigers send Puig and Phelps to SoggyBootomBoyz for D.Price

Big trade. I like it.

Just when I thought my pitching staff was beginning to catch up, you go and get David Price. How do I counter that?

Week 12 Preview:

Featured Game of the Week:

First Place Sarnia Tigers vs. Last Place Wolf Pack- Sarnia 5, Wolf 4

It isn't often that the best game of the week takes place between teams at opposite ends of the spectrum, but that is precisely what we have here. Despite vastly different fortunes, these teams match-up surprisingly well, leaving an astounding 6 swing categories to battle out in this week's match-up. Will the Pack continue to underachieve, or will their second half run begin now? The schedule is not in the Pack's favor as they will face 2nd place Grand Salami next week.

When they last met, the score was 5 to 5. Who will win the bragging rights in this contest?

Pitching- Sarnia has a slight edge in ERA and WHIP, but his aces have not been quite as unhittable lately. With Matt Moore on the bench, Zach Wheeler in the line-up and David Price yet to arrive, there is a lot to be determined here. Saves, wins and Ks are all up in the air. Each team has one closer to go along with double digit starts.

Hitting- Give Philabuster some credit. He has huevos grande. Not many would have the courage, not only to trade the hottest hitter in baseball, but to bench him the week before doing so. Given his track record of good calls, this one will probably work out too. The Pack has the clear edge in HRs while the Tigers should score more often. Everything else is up in the air.

Grand Salami vs. Dub- Salami 7, Dub 3

When they last met, Dub took the contest 5-4.

Pitching- This looks pretty one sided on paper. The Salamis will use 2 starts apiece from aces Waino, Harvey, Cain and Scherzer along with 4 closers. Dub's 3 closers could make saves interesting, but he could be in danger of missing the innings minimum if anything goes wrong. Buchholz has already been scratched from Tuesday's start with a DL trip a possibility. The Salamis will take K's and have the edge in all other pitching cats too.

Hitting- Dub has a clear edge in BA and will look to ride Ellsbury to take the steals cat. The Salamis should win HR and RBI, leaving runs as the swing cat. Dub's extra Monday games could be the difference here.

TKOut vs. Big League Chew- TKO 5, Big League 4

When they last met, TKO took out Big League 7-3.

Pitching- Despite an equal number of starts, Chew's aces give him the edge in K's, ERA and WHIP. TKO uses the league's most dominant bull pen to take the edge is saves.

Hitting- HR, RBI and BA should all go in TKO's favor. SBs and Runs could determine the match-up. Whose speedsters will get on base this week?

Yellow Fuzzy vs. Fudpuckers- Fuzzy 6, Fud 3

When thet last met, Fuzzy won 7-3.

Pitching- Fud has fallen on hard times of late as his pitchers have really struggled. It is difficult for to predict anything else this week. Fuzzy has the edge in ERA, WHIP, Saves and K's.

Hitting- Fud has the juice and should get HRs and SBs. Amazingly, Fud is among the best in the league in HRs and sitting in dead last in RBI. Not sure how that is possible. Anyhow, The RBI and BA edge gor to Fuzzy. Runs are up in the air.

Soggy Bottom Boyz vs. D Dude's Dodgers- Soggy 5, Dude 4

When they last met, they miraculously played to a 3 - 3 tie. Outstanding.

Pitching- Soggy will ride 11 starts against Dude's 5 to a huge edge in K's and Ws. Unfortunately for him, Dude has the edge in saves, ERA and WHIP, although the latter two figure to be close.

Hitting- Soggy's speedsters should allow him to take SBs, Runs and BA. HRs and RBI are the two swing categories here. We shall see how badly Braun's absence hurts Soggy there.

WHIP my FIP vs. Sportsboys- WHIP 4, Boys 4

When they last met, WHIP whipped the Boys 5-3

Pitching- Wins, Ks, ERA and WHIP could all go either way. WHIP will get saves. Darvish going twice could swing the K category.

Hitting- BA is the only swing cat here. The Boys have a pronounced edge in HR and RBI, while WHIP should get SB and Runs. Both offenses will be without their best players as Harper and Tulo are both on the DL.

As always, enjoy the preview and good luck to all.

Good point. I think i'm officially chalking this season up to a learning experience. Someday, like Caine from Kung Fu, I will learn patience. I'm still at the grasshopper stage. :puzzled:

This league? This bunch of guys?

Will never be won based on draft imho.
I'd prefer to go down making gutsy moves ... owners too active on wire and trades to stand pat.
Just my view. I figure if I get lucky enough times I might win.
ie I have no clue how Puig will do rest of the year and I have no clue how Price will bounce back. Not even slightest idea lol. Seemed like a reasonable risk with 6 OFs.

I think Price is going to do just fine. No reason to worry there. I see 3 possible outcomes for Puig.

1) He is the next Mike Trout- Chef wins

2) He is the next Yoenis Cespedes- Push

3) He is the next Chris Davis- I mean the first time he came up when he lit the world on fire for a couple weeks then struck out 80 million times and got demoted. Philabuster wins

Will be interesting.

#1 is out of the question. Number two would be nice...

Lol! Going by what the minor league guy on Razzball says, it's gonna be option #3.

Well, won't be the first or last mistake i've made. In the meantime, i'll stop reading Razzball.

I don't know if I would have done it.
Then again, given what my team has done this year, who am I to criticize anyone.:L

Chef.... honest!!! I ignore the minor guy on Razzball... I don't think he knows what he's talking about 90% of the time. (that's the God's honest truth lol)
Sounds fishy haha but serious!

Lol!! Didn't mean anything against you...hell, I needed an OF and accepted the trade! And remember, I could've had Stanton under different arrangements. Like Tlance said, time will tell. But I have to admit the sudden articles and MLB Network spots about Puig belonging on the All Star team are starting to piss me off...jinx! :hellno:

Judging from that catch Marte made tonight, his ribs are feeling better.

I hope so. I decided to give him the week off to allow him to further recuperate. I am pretty sure that helps.

0 VCash Chef, did you put it all on the Tigers tonight?

I guess it takes overnight for the VCash to register...thought I screwed up.

Ha! I'm swimming in VBucks! Now if I can just scrape up enough change to get a cup of coffee...:)
