It's raw, you donkey!
So, here's a question for you guys: do commissioners usually take over a couple of teams and disperse the players onto the waiver wire? Evidently these teams are not being managed, so is this the norm?

Apparently these two teams have not made a roster move in 30 days, were sent an email about it and have not responded, so are being considered dead teams. All of their players are being put on the wire, which is locked until Thursday. At that point, i'd imagine the waiver frenzy begins. When the league began, the cardinal rule was that you be active (which most people are), so this is what is being done.
I'm curious as to how situations like these are usually resolved, because it seems a bit early, and drastic, to me...but hey, i'm just goin' by the rules here.
Philabuster - having someone take the teams over was my thought as well. In any event, thanks to you and BigD for your comments. Just trying to get a little perspective on things.
Now if I can only figure out what to do with Braun in our league...
Well, the shit is hitting the fan over in the other league...it's been announced that there will be a mad dash for free agents on Thursday at noon, and people are REALLY not happy...and I agree. Being comfortably in first place it doesn't affect me as much, but it really doesn't seem fair. I don't like being in a position where I have to start wondering whose interests are at heart here.
Usually these decisions are made by commissioners who will benefit. (or who don't have a stud catcher)
Never look far from commissioners' best interest when looking at why changes/decisions are brought up.
It's really too bad.... mostly because so many great guys will never know what it's like to play in a great league.
No point sticking it out beyond the year for sure. This kind of problem never gets better.
Holy shit Lester! WTF?
Jon Lester is officially on the block...
Dead teams are no fun, but do you know what can really ruin a league? When a commish makes a decision like that.
That is the worst possible decision. There is no fair and equitable way to divide up players from a team (or 2 teams) mid season. There are surely a couple studs that will hit the free agent list and whoever gets them will be at a huge advantage. As the team currently in first, you have more to lose than anyone else. I would be livid.
