I noticed in my keeper league we changed from saves to saves+holds, but there are still 2 teams that have punted the category. Granted my league is 7x7 so it hurts less if you lose that one point, but even with the expanded pool people will punt regardless.

I like holds + saves. I also like QS and any option that isn't BA. OPS, SLG, OBP are all better IMO.

While I would be up for other possible changes, I found out the hard way in my keeper league that If I didn't stick to one topic, things would get muddled and nothing would get done (sort of like when we brought this up on the other boards).

In my keeper league I had several changes to address for next year, but I brought them up one at a time and things went smoothly. Those are some good discussion topics of change, but I'd like to stick to the topic at hand before we go delving into other changes.

I'll put up a poll next week on yahoo once everyone has had a chance to give their feedback on this.

So I just dropped Billy Hamilton in my seasonal league... I guess that means he'll be called up this weekend! F.Y.I.

As for changes to this league, I'm all for it.

Yeah, i'm for it too. Don't remember what my vote was on saves/holds, but I know I voted for W's. Next time, QS is fine with me.

I have none left. :suds:

Now it's my turn to give out some white hairs. All of you guys who have had access issues today need to do a virus scan on your computer. To make a long story short, the server was blocking many users who it detected doing a port scan. It's very possible that your computer has malware on it and is doing port scans without you knowing. I highly recommend the free Malwarebytes scanner. In fact, I have the paid version and it's well worth the money.

Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

Don't take it too serious. The vast majority of access issues were related to DNS. But those having the worst issues have something strange going on because such port scans aren't normal.

Everyone read the above note from hammer, it was in the SportsHoopla Server Migration & Software Upgrade Thread

It shouldn't. Peralta is a replacement level player. Arencibia is a top 10 catcher in a league where you need to start 2. Those guys are gold. He needs to pay if he wants JP.

So TKO's VMart frustrations are well documented.

My version is the daily sit/start dilemma. I have been rolling with 1 C most of the season, but when Sally P was in Venezuela, I picked up Juan Castro. Castro has been good enough that I would like to keep him around for awhile, but I invariably make the wrong choice when deciding between the two guys each day.

On Wednesday, I went out with my family and was not able to check line-ups. I knew Sally P would play, but was not sure about Castro. I started Sally P only to have Castro hit a HR on my bench. Thursday I benched Sally P while he had a solid game and Castro went 0-4. On Friday, after consulting with a friend who has quasi psychic abilities, I made the last minute decision to start Castro over Perez and sure enough, Perez hits HR #2.

I am 0-3. I like both guys, but may drop one so that they don't drive me insane.

Well, Rev, I couldn't hold out any longer. I tried, but looks like you were right on with Victor. I thought he was coming out of it, but he didn't... of course, I probably just started his run by dropping him!

HR for the second night in a row, I just may have to eat my words and pick him up.:yahoo:

to stay on point with Rev's original query...and to keep him from having to herd worms...
I am fine with going to saves + Holds. Seems every year I am searching for waiver wire closers in leagues that are saves only. It would be nice for a guy like Melancon to become relavent when he is having such a great year.

I feel your pain with Sally P, but i'm gonna stick it out a little longer..:hope:

Ok. I get it. So you talk TKO in to dropping Victor so you can scoop him yourself? That is messed up man.

I'll admit Miguel Montero is killing me, and if it wasn't for what he's done the past 3 years I would have dropped him like a dirty shirt.

I might consider Victor if it weren't for the fact I've got 3 guys I can't drop on the DL and Hanley is itching to join them, not to mention BJ suffering from the worst case of suckitus in history. I just don't have the extra player to spare without sacrificing someone from my already depleted pitching staff.

On a side note, do any of you have any objections to the second DL slot now?
Holy injuries batman.

I think I'll put up that poll now for saves+holds so we can dump some more worms out.

I still would prefer no DL slots. I have one league like that and it is great. If you want to keep a DL guy, you don't get an extra slot. You must use your bench. In DL leagues I have purposefully picked up a guy on the DL just to stash him. That just seems wrong.
But again, I remain in the minority on this one.

Oh well, at least I'm still getting his production this week. He'll go back to his terrible self sooner rather than later... I just hope Lucroy doesn't fade.
